So, I pulled over for a bike cop, he said I was doing 60 in a 40. We checked out each other's bikes, he had a 2010 Harley, comfy ride.
He said "I'm gonna give ya a break man, most sport riders run off from me, and you were kind enough to stop for me".
I started feeling sorry for him, he said his bike tops out at 120mph. He asked me how fast I've had the VFR, I say Uhhhh Uhhhh.
He says don't worry I won't hold it against ya, ok then I've touched 150, he says wow ya got more guts than I do.
He was a cool dude, I now have a new lawman friend!

I dont live to far from you star so where exactly does this cop patrol? I think i will have a new place to ride. I have had a couple cops thank me for not running. One gave me just a warning but the other still gave me the ticket. I look at it if im going to speed and i get caught i will pay the price. I suppose there must be a lot of people out there running for these cops to be thanking us for stopping. Hell i would be to damn scared to run, in my older age anyway.

Happened in Southaven, MS. Just below the state line, south of Memphis.
He also told me about the extensive training they go through.
He said he could drag the floorboards on corners, lol.

That's what my old man always used to say.

Having a kid that needs you tends to encourage more responsible decision making too.

That's good news. Anytime I get pulled over, it's always "Yes, sir. No Sir" or Mam if it's a female cop and they always appreciate quick and honest answers. I've been let go quite a few times, just by being polite and owning up to my traffic offense. There are the occasional here's your ticket anyway, but if I was breaking the law, then that's the penalty I should expect. Sometimes they'll cut you a break on the infraction by reducing the speed noted on the ticket, better than handcuffs and bike impounded I guess.

We do plenty of "cop bashing" around here, so its nice to have a good story.

I got pulled over in my town once for doing 70 in a 35. I knew he had me, so I pulled over and waited. He was going so fast he damn near flew by me, and when we were talking, he said he wasn't expecting me to pull over. He still ticketed me, but only for 50 in a 35, and advised me to go and talk to the prosecutor and have it reduced to unsafe driving (which, in Jersey, is no points. Only a fine). So that's what I did.

These bikes have the, "yep you need a ticket", look on them from the police. I was behind a mini van....yes a mini van... I saw a vehicle stopped way far ahead on the shoulder and decided to slow down while the mini van kept pulling away from me. Sure enough it was a cop on the side of the road. He pulled me over.... I asked him if it was me or the "car" in front of me that he clocked... He said," yep I saw the minivan but I caught you".... 80 in a 60.... I know I was wayyy in the 60s as soon as I saw the car on the side of the road. I dunno if he had radar or laser. If it would have been radar he would have got the van first...If it was laser I was way to far away for him to pick me out of traffic to lock onto me. Bought a lawyer, went to court, cop didn't show....Have a nice day

That's because Joey Dude and Cornerexit are obviously a couple of hooligans.

I've found the best strategy is to be polite, but counter their statements with a somewhat questioned response. "sir, you were speeding, you know how fast" "I think maybe (general speed range)" etc.. let them tell you how fast you were going. Be polite, don't argue, just play it a bit clueless and keep your responses short. don't say anything when they first approach, let them do the talking. calm demeanor is probably the most important. I've received more warnings than tickets this way, or had the speed dropped below what would have been a wreckless with minimal conversation.

In the last month I all most got three speeding tickets, so don't ride that much and only where there a fewer cops. My car has a $500 radar detector and goes much slower-I don't have too much trouble avoiding cops with the car. but the Big Black VFR looks really fast.:whoops::kc10:

I got caught doing 88 in a 65, pulled over, turned off the bike, took my helmet off. He came up and just asked me questions about my bike (954rr). Told me have a nice day and slow down.

I got stopped in the VA mountains on route 211 in April for 54 in a 35 (he dropped it from 57 to avoid wreckless driving charge). He asked me why I was speeding & I smiled & said "come on....it's fun!" He laughed.

Got another ticket on I-81 in southwest VA about a month ago. I had worked until 2 a.m. then headed out on my trip. Was almost all the way to TN & about 6:30 a.m., decided to break the monotany by blasting up to 100. No one on the road except a pair of headlights way behind me. Turned out to be a cop who clocked me at 91 in a 70. So tomorrow I'm head down to Marion, VA (5 hour trip) to try to get it reduced to speeding......

I was riding my Norton on a group ride. A cop on a Harley rides up next to me and we ride side by side for a couple of miles. He looks over and says "nice bike. You don't see to many of those anymore." And he pealed off and rode away. It was kind of fun to ride side by side with a cop.

Got tickets from bike cops, squad cars, and airplanes, did my share of out running the radio too :vtr2: FTP

One bike copper story, I go by a bike cop finishing up with a customer on the highway where the speed limit was maybe 65 mph? I did'nt think much of it (we do have the move over law here.) So, I am happily motoring along when I notice him behind me, so I slow down a little, (no land speed records were being broken mind you.) Adventually, our handle bars/clip-ons/grips were about a foot away from eachother, when he turned on the sirens.

He gave me a ticket :flip: for speeding. I have zero points down here and have a safe driver endorsement too. The one purpose of bike cops is that they "harvest" cars/motorcycles/bicycles/jay walkers for their municipality, period end of story. Their bikes are used for 2 years and they sell them to post lobodimal idiots killing each other to buy them. Talk about buying something with bad karma. :loco:
