    You were right.

    HOLY CRAP!!!

That hurts me just looking at it.

Just yesterday, I saw a nimrod fall coming out of the local WAWA. He was doing like 3MPH & simply hit the brakes while still leaned over. Down he goes. He was wearing a t shirt, cargo shorts, low top sneakers & a $4.76 soup bowl with a chin strap for a helmet. All he did was scrape up his knee & he told me he thinks he broke a couple of his fingers. Damage to the ZX6 (an older one) was limited to a broken turn signal & scratches.

Like Bugs Bunny said, "What a Maroon."

    KC-10 FE out...

    SFPA,
I figured you were around SWC running by "Iron Mike" on good 'ol Ardennes. However, I was not on the teams. EN AUG92 punched out SEP07 from USAR.
SOS. Married 5 months+OIF+OEF+orders cut for 485 plus days=1 unhappy young wife and sh*tty marriage.

Iron Mike is over on Randolph St. in the traffic circle, COL "Bull" Simmons is the statue that you are referring to in front of JFKSWCS.

Yup. I used to run by Bull Simmons when I was in the 82d Airborne at least 2-3 times a week. I can't say I miss it much!!

I hope to retire out of 3rd group.

Damn! Thanks for sharing this link. I always wondered what happened to the "hotties" I see on the back of bikes with no gear. Question answered.

Hey KC-10FE, I am going to e-mail the link to my MSF site coordinator and ask if I can give this article to the participants who come to class. I think a good visual of road rash can drive the point home, and the article is good too! When you graduate maybe you can do the same!

    Just a thought!

Better to live to ride another day. Riding through cages is very defensive work. Has anyone read about the couriers in UK?? Read their stories before you attempt to split too many lanes. In Ca. it is legal and can lead to getting run over. I once saw a rider make a left turn between two semis as I watched a few car lengths back on my old GS750. I couldn't imagine....

It is hard to crack on her when she takes the lesson so well, reacing to others.

Have you seen guys leave their feet off the pegs when leaving a light, they look like one of those hawaiin boats. Like putting your foot down at 20mph will save you from falling if you biff. To me, that is squidish. Put feet near controls immediately. best place for them.

Most likely due to the GSXR's and Bandits offering buget performance with a reputation of attracting the wild headbanger crowd. Personally quite like the GSXR750 and talking to my VFR mechanic they are the best of the current Superbikes to work on.

That's what I was just thinking of! To me that's an instant giveaway that someone doesn't really know what they're doing. Around school I see lots of dork on mopeds just riding down the street with their feet sticking out, as if they might spontaneously lose their balance any second!

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. It's either swim with the squids and try to stay afloat or ride alone. Then you get some of the ignorant harley riders and a few experienced riders that think your squid because your a young guy on an aggressive lookin' bike. My gloves have steel plates over the knuckles...I know I should hope I never have to put them to use...but sometimes its tempting.

Hell, I was just sitting at a light with my chick on the back a couple weeks ago (ever since I met her I always talk about the importance of wearing protective gear) and this squid (I prefer assclown sometimes) on a 'busa splits lanes between me at the light with a skull cap on, surf shorts, thong sandals and a small tank top. His chick on the back had similar attire on. My gf was quick to point out, "look at those idiots." Gene pooling cleansing I call it!

Ya know, when you see somebody like that, there is really nothing you can do. Talking to them would do know good. Just a lost cause, until they find out the hard way.

If they are fools and idiots like some you see on " nothingtoxic.com " it is better to ride alone.

Riding a good motorcycle well through a breathtaking set of scenic twisties will give you some of the best feelings of your life. Straight lining it at warp though heavy traffic or arsing about popping wheelies and stoppies on public streets is a very dum way of adding high levels of unpredictability to an already dangerous pastime. :frown:
