    Hi All,

I want to cable a usb port in the front left inside of the fairing. I have found a suitable location, but wondering if anyone would know the best way to cable the port in. It needs to switch on and off with the ignition. My current thought is to use the headlight loom.

    Its on a 6th gen vfr 800

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks.

I just bought a cigarette ligter and am installing it under seat, running along cable up to my tank bag or into saddle bags. Maybe putting it inside of a zip lock baggie for keeping it dry, but from the amount of dust under the seat, it doesn't get very wet under there.

+1 on fitting a cigarette type socket. eBay has plenty of ready to go adaptors which can plug straight in to power a phone.

As for weather-proofing track down a ships chandler - they usually stock or can source marine kit which won't short out in torrential rain.

Oh nifty. Can I use something like this to get onto the headlight ground wire for my steering stem plug? The harness is too short for it to reach the screw it was supposedly designed to reach. Not sure how I'd connect it to the t-tap though, since it ends in an O-ring type tab.

    Sorry for the thread hijack!
