Finally get to stop being a lurker and start posting... Picked up an "86 VFR700F last night... rode it 700km home today. You'll see from my pics it's pretty tidy done 46K miles (74000km) Got a few little niggles I'll post questions on soon, but... sounds good, performs well - surprised me by being sooo stable, even in bumpy corners, yet also quite easy to flick around ...currently it's more capable than I am, but I'm learning fast. Cheers.
:welcome: to the zoo mate. a warm welcome from across the pond  Ride safe and keep the rubbers side down.
Congrats and welcome aboard. That is a nice looking bike. I have an 86 myself and it is nice to see more of them still around.
Hey Jobiwan Welcome to the WORLD and congrats on the new purchase. We are all sure that you will grow to love the bike more with each time you ride it. My son, he's now 6, thinks that your bike is the COOLEST looking bike he's ever seen. He Likes my bike, but he LOVES!!! your bike.
Where the hell is New Zealand. IS that some tropical island somewhere? Welcome to the site. New Zealand and Australia are definitely on my list of places to visit before I become organic matter on this earth.
Wouldn't quite call us a tropical island ...almost as far south as you are north. But summers are good and winters not as cold... about the only country in the world you can ski in the morning - drive 3 hours - and surf in the afternoon! Been to BC (and skiied - of course )... was in Canada for a whole year - loved your country
Hey zoom-zoom, guess that gives me one more reason to keep it as stock looking as possible Say hi to the wee man. (oops!, thatis a bad assumption - he could be 24 for all I know!) Just doing so engine work and cosmetic repairs to the fairings... maybe racetech cartridge emulators and a fork brace when I can afford... and maybe a second lipped screen for touring. Otherwise I love the look too... was my dream bike @18 while I was stuck on my VT250F learners bike (see my gallery).
Welcome Jobiwan, I dremt of owning that bike of yours when I had my VF500. And waited long enough to get me the 5th gen...I have a brother who works in Sydney Australia & I'm planning to go visit him nest year & I hope to get to visit NZ in the same trip. And for those who follow rugby, who can beat the All-Blacks ?
Ha!... NO ONE! All Blacks vs South Africa Rugby Championship 2 2013 - YouTube For those who don't know rugby - cracker game to watch! Rode the VF500 back when - great handling bike!
