Since I have the whole bike apart to do some valve adjustment, I figured now would be the perfect time to add some new accessories, and tear out all the old custom wiring and re-do it as a more professional job.
Once I get it all together I'll post some pictures and tricks I use to make it all seamless.

Planned farkle to be added or re-done:
Stebel Nautilus Air Horn (I took some ideas from another thread on this forum where it was cut in half and connected via hose)
40-watt BiXenon HID headlight kit, with timed pulse relays to mitigate strike draw.
2x 12V accessory ports, one of which on an ignition relay
    heated grips on ignition relay
    Brake light modulator
Whelen LIN3 as third brake light
    LED license plate bolts
LED brake lights and turn signals with digital flasher relay
    hazard light switch
auxiliary fuse box and improved chassis grounding

Here's the electrical diagram I put together to plan for this project. In addition to the above I'll be using 8, 12, 16, 18 and 20 gauge wire, and a lot of quick disconnect terminals.

So, if I ever need someone to explain how to read a wiring diagram Evil, I think I just may give you call. You must be an electrical engineer or something. LOL

So I did run in to one (yet another) little snag... seems the hazard flasher wiring isn't that simple! After going through the electrical diagrams in the Honda service manual and scratching my head, I'm still kinda at a loss as to why bridging the wires that go to the turn signal switch (Brown/blue common, orange/white left, light blue/white right according to the manual) don't make the turn signals come on! Has anyone attempted adding a hazard switch before and know how it works? I was thinking this would be a simple job of connecting all 3 wires at once with a 3-way toggle switch. DERP! I just realized the switch needs to disengage the running lights and engage the flasher at the same time, or it won't work... need more than a 3-way pushbutton switch. May need to get dirty with diodes, a secondary flasher and custom wiring circuits, but that seems a lot of trouble for something so simple!

    Enjoy your farkling!

Are you kidding? I'm just making shit up and learning as I go!
Seriously though I'm just more of jack of all trades hobbyist type who likes to over-engineer everything.

    Thanks!

PS, the el-cheapo Chinese white 7443 LED bulbs came in today and they're surprisingly bright... easily 3x as bright as the amber 5050SMD bulbs, and probably at least 70% as bright as the stock incandescent. Downside is white LEDs put out much cooler light than the incandescent, so more of it gets absorbed by the housing, and comes out looking more neon yellow than amber.

I'm going to do a write up and comparison of those and all the other LED bulbs I'm trying as well, and make some bulb recommendations... but so far at $4.50 a bulb, these seem (much cheaper than superbrightleds) suitable replacements for the turn signal lamps.

    Hey Evil

in response to your comment about attempting to add a hazard switch, I seem to recall someone posting up a question a while ago and I thought I remembered a mention of European bikes having hazard light switch. Not 100 percent positive though. For a hobbyist, you did up a mean looking wiring diagram. Good luck with the project.

Yeah I saw a few older threads on here about that, but none really seemed to have the answers I was looking for... seems I misunderstood the problem, though, so I need to re-think how that would best be set up.

    EDIT:

I used TinyCAD for the diagram. You should give it a go sometime if you ever need to visualize a problem like this. It comes in handy.

Yeah, I didn't want to do something really complex with this, given the limited space I had to work with around everything else I was adding.

I decided to splice a set of fully insulated disconnects into the control wiring harness to the solid orange, light blue, and gray wires, then wire in disconnects into a 3-way hazard switch (unfortunately, NOT weatherproofed... I don't know how long it will last) which I glued in to the right side of dash below the main instrument cluster. and hooked it up. The caveat is that it will only work if the bike's ignition is on, so there's power to the running lights. For my purposes this is acceptable, since I have a switch to turn off the headlights to save power, and all of my tail and running lights are now LED.

EDIT: No, I still don't have pics up as promised... because I'm *still* not finished. They'll come eventually.
