    HI all ,

Been lurking for a little while and that little banner keeps making me feel guilty about not posting yet so here it is. I'm from Canberra Australia, I ride a 1999 VFR 800 I've had for almost a year and love it. When I saw it advertised I jumped onto it straight away because I have always wanted one, funny thing was it had been for sale for a while but not many people liked the yellow paint scheme.

Thanks for the useful information you all have provided so far. I'm looking at shortening the rear fender and getting a new pipe but those are the only mods I have in mind. I'm also trying to decide whether to leave the tank cover on or not, I don't have tank bags to use the clips on it so it is just a big condom for protecting the tank. I just gave her two new tires, sprockets and a chain.

Here she is, I usually have the passenger seat cowl in place but not in these photos.

Welcome to the site Lebster. Funny how a couple thousand miles of water changes peoples view of things. Over here, I believe that the yellows are sought after. They do look cool. Not my cup of tea (glass of scotch really) but they are sharp looking.

Welcome! I thought your post was a typo, and that you wanted to de-link your brakes on your 5 Gen, not stop being a lurker! I also see that you are wise, not just because you bought a VFR, but you posted pictures of your ride on your introduction post :thumb:

    Cheers!

Thanks for the welcome guys. Haha no I have seen other intro posts without pics and learned my lesson.

Do people really de-link their brakes?

Yes they do, particularly if they are retrofitting different front forks on the bike. Most other model bike forks do not have the mounts on the left fork leg to mount the secondary master cylinder and/or when going with a USD fork, you typically have to use the calipers off of the bike the forks came off of. I have no issue with the linked brakes and I would probably just re-valve/spring the front end anyway.
