Holly shit Moving Man. I thought I was packed to the nines last year like this. IMGP1023.jpg I didn't come close to this guy. Where the hell is he going that he needs all that crap? And I was packing clothing for three seasons, wet and dry, tent, blow up mattress, sleeping bag and pillow.

Too funny, just when I was about to say he has everything but the kitchen sink, he whips out the "kitchen sink"! Some of his gear is pretty cool, gave me a few ideas for my next moto-camping trip, but I'm going to say if that is minimalist, I would hate to really have to pack! As one commenter said on his YouTube page, "Be sure to bring a strong pillion to help lift the bike and all that kit out of the dirt if you drop it." That bike must way a ton with all that gear on there.

Good luck on your adventure Slovfr!

Just because you got a few medals for your riding sk1lz doesn't mean OR doesn't have some very cool views and great roads to ride. I DO suggest that you watch yourself between Grants Pass and Eugene for the popo are very intolerant on I5. The road from I5 over to Crater Lake is all fresh pavement and the road was widened a bit two years ago. 101 (in Or) can be a gravelly biatch but mostly an entertaining ride. If you watch out for the blue hairs in their extra long campers. Ask Randy about getting lost in Portland, like 3 times. But those Canadians have no sense of direction.

Post up a map with some details about your route. Check the weather on the 101 all the way up to Canada. If you're moteling it drill down on your maps and a few blocks from the main road, slab or whatever using the old route will save you some big pesos. Campsites are all different in Ogeron and Washington. If you can skip a shower ask for a "primitive" site. A couple of bucks at a KOA will usually buy you a shower.

I agree. The bears on the Oregon Coast are stocking up for the winter and are looking for food of any kind. Except harleydoods. ;)

PM sent. Watch the signs heading southbound on the I-5 in Portland. You expect that the fast lane is the one going straight through, and to continue south on the I-5. WRONG! It takes you into down town Portland. With a 25 foot fifth wheel in tow. Watch the signs and you might be OK. But to be safe in Oregon, bring safes.

Seems to me that if our traveler is bound for Canada from Lompoc, CA he will be Northbound on I-5. I think it's OZ where everything but the people are ass backward. Excluding harleydoods of course.

was referring to his potential return route. A big make-up mirror and steady hand deals with backwards issues.
