There is actually an issue when converting the PCIII maps to the PCV maps. There are some settings on the PCIII that do not exist on the PCV and it does not convert over, even in their own software. I'm trying to remember where I read this and what the work around is, if I can recall that I'll let post the info here. In the mean time, you can probably pick a map that is close, which is what I did ('09 with TB can and K&N air filter) and that should get you through until you can get it Dyno tuned. Note that you will need to remove or disable the PAIR valve in order for the Dyno machine to read your output properly. I actually have the "stock" map and another map loaded into my PCV but I don't recall which map I chose, I think it was the one that was for the Micron exhaust (16-005-002).

So me having no idea about tuning a pc5 will be taking my bike in to the shop to get it dyno tuned. What ?s do I need to be asking to make sure it is being done right? And is they any info I need to know before I jump into this. Also may have told me to take my dyno money and buy an auto tune from power commander. Any thoughts??

There are different opinions on the Auto-tune, some will tell you it's a waste of money and it's better spent on an official Dyno-tune. I'm somewhere in the middle, if it does what its supposed to do and you're venturing into different elevations and temperature zones, etc., then I'm for it. However, if your really not going to be touring all over the place and only ride in your general area, why not get it custom tuned?

With that, if you're going to be taking it into a shop for a Dyno-tune, all you really need to do is either disable or remove the PAIR valve system prior to bringing it in. Basically you tell them what you are looking for i.e. Maximum horse power, maximum gas mileage, etc. and they'll be able to set your machine up accordingly. If you do not know what the PAIR valve system is, or don't think you can disable/remove it yourself, you can always have the shop do it for you. Do a search on PAIR valve to see the different post on what it is and how to disable/remove it. If you're still on the fence about taking it right away and want to load up a map, all you need is a laptop, the Power Commander software and the USB cable that came with the unit. You can get the software off their website if you don't have the CD-Rom anymore, it might be prudent anyway so that you can get the latest software version and firmware for your PCV, you can also download a how-to instruction manual. BTW, the map I mentioned before is the one that Dyno-Jet recommended I use with my 2Bros setup.

    Cheers!
