Wife says about 12hrs from our place to Vegas.

When we went out there, we left from Grand Junction. Drove all the way to some town in Cali and made it to SLO about noon.

I think your plan would work and I'd ride part of the way with ya depending on what day/s you're coming through.

Two 11 hour days on a new bike with a seat you are not used to may give you a bad case of crack cramp.

If I get a vote, the following weekend is better than this coming Friday. But will make whatever work.

Next Friday to me is the one coming during the next weekend. Otherwise I say this Friday. So it's the 27th, but I'm not sure it will work for me as I have something Monday the 30th I have to attend.

I am considering leaving here on Thurs the 26th, Riding Mo-CO 27th CO-NV 28th NV-CA Sun 29th if the tickets are comparable.

Where exactly do you live? I am attempting to gather all the IBA stuff for a SS & BB 1000 & 1500 on the same trip. Not sure about the 1000 in 24 but I should make the 1500 in 48 I think. I might revise route just to make the 1000, though. I'll have to see I think you are only about 750 from where I'm leaving so I'd either have to go on past, or get up in the middle of the night to finish the 1000 in time.

    Link to map.

This is what I'm looking at, but there are a few issues with it. I do not know if Fort Collins is where you actually live, (that's where Randy said he last remembered.) There is the 1000 in 24 hour thing. And now the flights have gone up. I may have to push it even further out. Maybe that would be better then I could not rush it so much. Maybe stop in in Moab. I have never checked it out. How long can I wait before I am at risk of not getting through mountains? I have aerostich suit so I am pretty decent on temps until it gets pretty low. I have heated grips, but no heated gear.

I can send you heated jacket liner and pant liner on loan. I think I have a couple fused connection wires that go direct to battery you can have.

not necessarily. The Sequoia trip is an easy weekend trip. The Missouri trip is more of an ordeal.

Yea, small town right next to ft. Collins. I'd propose to meet you down in Denver and the wife's connections should help score us a good hotel rate.

Another tip I've learned would be to avoid interstates as much as possible. They are patrolled too heavy and they bore you to sleep behind the bars. There are normally good state highways that parallel the interstate. I-70 over the Rockies isn't bad if you've never done it. There's a great state highway ride that drops into Moab.

Snow storms can hit at any time but the odds are still good for a few weeks to come IMO.
