The blasted side stand snubber ?

Having injured myself minorly twice over about 26 years on a left turn after stupidly forgetting to raise my stand, i fret when i have a bad snubber (like now), but i have NEVER been able to remove the stuck-in rubber end remnant on several Hondas. Any help ?? (No torch suggestions, please.)

Anyone else here ever crashed cuz of a side stand left down ?

I think a better question would be "who hasn't crashed due to a side stand left down?"

From your description it is far from clear what the problem is. Is the side stand hanging down too far/not stowed properly?

    :worthless:

Perhaps the easiest solution would be to post a picture of the offending "sidestand snubber" so we know what you are talking about.

Can you Jerry rig a cutout switch to your existing side-stand so that the bike will not move with it down like the later gens SQ?

    I guess so  Bjim
Squirrelman's bike probably to old so there is no kill switch.
If he would turn right he would not crash and will get there eventually

Maybe remove old kickstand and install one that doesn't have whatever it is you are talking about.

Snubber is the short rubber tongue next to the pad on the sidestand that drags on the road and touches down and flips the stand up if you forget. By 4th gens, it was replaced with switch and reminder light. Four or 5 tries on different bikes, i was never able to pry/pull/hammer the stub end out so i could replace it. Yeah, i just gave up. Yes, Toe, i removed the bolt first thing, guessing the end piece would just drop out but it's very tightly stuck !

I had one of those on an old XL250. I had to pull it for powder coating. If I remember correctly there was a small recessed screw in it covered with paint. I almost destroyed the rubber snubber trying to get it out.

Right you are, my good man.

Went through files and found photo of a 250 Babyceptor with a good snubber. They do seem to wear smaller over the years, and there's a line that shows minimum useful length.
