i have been seriously considering purchasing a new bike for sometime. I really like the look of the vfr1200. Just wondering how comfortable the heavy set owners are on the bike? I am 6'3" and roughly 275 lbs.

I am 6'1 and I believe when I test rode the 1200 I weighed about 200 (ahh the good ol days). It seemed a pretty decent size. My inseam is 34". Where you might notice your size (forgive me for assuming here) is if you have a frontal protuberance that might be uh, sitting against the hump of the tank. Your best bet is to get on the bike and see how it fits you. Any chance there is a dealer near you with one to try?

Maybe someone on VFRworld near you that could let you size it up?

I will tell you this, though. The 1200 does not seem like a big bike. For comparison, I have ridden the BMW whatever that is comparable and it felt bigger than the VFR.

I don't have much of a frontal issue. i sport a 38" waist with 34 inseam. I' ve ridden a couple of bmw'er as well as offering from yamaha and kawasaki, They just don't do anything for me. i'm constantly being drawn towards the vfr. the main concern i have is how larger individuals fair after spending 400 - 500 miles on the machine in a day.

You won't have a problem. I'm 6'2" and can ride the thing all day long. You will need to put heavier duty springs in the fork and on the shock

I'll be tearing the bike down next month for it. Ohlins rear, and I'll have the forks revalved/resprung. At your weight you'd have to put new springs on anything you buy, doesn't matter the brand or model.

A new shock spring and fork springs is only a few hundred if you stop there.
