I have had a 2k and 2005 VFR and did mods on the bike for improved performance. I am looking at a 2006 VFR that is all stock and curious if it is necessary to change the pipes and add a Power Commander - is the performance gain worth the time and money. I am more interested in getting the suspension setup for my weight and ridin style. Any sugggestions?

i mean there really isnt too much difference between the 05 and 06.
the vtec engagement point is lower and there is a vtec window, but really its the same shit.
the bike still has a lean surge and o2 sensors that go in and out.
i wouldnt ride the bike with out the o2 sensors disabled and a remap.
exhaust and air box mods are great for the sound too.
imho the vfr sounded awful when stock.

ok Thanks - I was thinking of selling my 04 R1 for a 2006 VFR. I will consider the cost for the USB Power Commander and Leo Vance exhaust and the flapper and airbox mod before making a final decision. Trying to keep the bike and mod costs to a total of $6k

    Air box is free bro.
Delkivic slip ons are cheap as heck.
No reason to pay over 200 for a pc3 now that the PCV has been out for so long.

Honestly, the ultimate cheap build would be:
    Deflappered desnorkeled. Free
Gutted cans and gutted cats. Free
De-pair valved and de evap caned. Free
Radio shack 330 ohm resistor o2 eliminators. like a dollar.
Dent/smash the fuel pressure regulator in a little for increased fuel pressure. Free

You'd spend almost nothing for a bad ass bike that would run pretty good. Some where in between how a stock Vfr runs and how a Vfr with a custom tune runs.

Thinking about using Bazzaz - kinda pricey but looks worth the cash. Curious if I can use stock cans.
