20130825_150600.jpg Whats up!!! I'm excited, I haven't been on here in a while. Last year I got my 2004 VFR 800 and joined the forum. The VFR was damaged when I bought it, well a year later after hard work in the garage, it's BACK!!!! New fairings, led turn signal mirrors, new grips, levers, and best of all CUSTOM EXHAUST and I do mean CUSTOM!!!!! All designed and done by me, excepts for a bend and weld. I have before and after pics so tell me what you think. The custom exhaust is a symphony of HAVOK & CHAOS!!!!!!!! LOL 5Id5F25M13nc3M13lec7pff1087d0ba8e159f.jpg

Love the bike. You definitely have a one of a kind exhaust. I like the four exhausts. I just think they are a little to long. Looks kinda like the mv. Good job though.

Is that blue-on-blue or blue-on-black? Either way, that is literally the only blue paint job I have ever liked.

And since you asked, I prefer shorter silencers on the VFR. But yours look pretty damn good, and it's your motorcycle so my opinion is worthless.

Thanks, it looks a lot better in person. They look long on the pics, but it actually comes out only 2 inches further then factory exhaust.

Just curious about the fairings. Did you get one of the Chineese sets from ebay, like BlissStar or something?

Good question. I was wondering if the pipes came out of the Wayne LaPierre handbook.

No, I was serious. I looked at a set for a 5th gen and the color pattern on yours just looked familiar. I never bought them, but was always curious how they fit.

The consensus seems to be that the Chinese fairings do not seem to fit or are difficult to fit. Now I am wondering if those pipes were available in a flat black. What would be neat there would be to do up the bike like a Gilley suit. I may just send this to HD since they still have a few months left on the 110th anniversary herd.

Looks great except the 600rr stickers on the tail section. I like the blue flames. those are most likely the reason for BB coming over to check it out he is drawn to open flames like a bug to a visor. I think the pipes are your creation so It looks good. I would try to get the 600rr decals off and then she looks mint. You will confuse the non educated cagers with the wrong decal on the bike. They will start calling VFRs CBRs and hurt the bikes street cred.

Flame jobs have a history dating back to WWI. Many of the inline and radial type aircraft engines had open headers and would spit fire. Yep, that's where the the WWII Spitfires came from too. Same deal with aircraft paintwork and "kills". In the mid 30's the most famous of the painted flames were on the Bee-Gee. In case of confusion this was not the dudes from OZ who are fewer in number lately.

This dudes flames are great if ya like them. IMO they are much too heavy and look much like the flames when lighting a fart after too many Dixie Beers.. The flamejobs I am drawn to are much more subtle and well thought out. Cars and bikes done by Ken (Von Dutch) Howard are great examples and for copying, I think templates (weeded) or stick on vinyls are available. Some other sources are internet image searches and then drilling down to the actual Von Dutch flame and striping examples and not stuff that is done by a couple of clothing designers who sell shit in HD Botiques.

For bugs on my visor, I carry a little mister bottle of that blue shit that looks like the blue shit ya buy at Walgreens only I get mine at a dollar store. Takes care of those bugs right skippy. Works on windshields too. Not that many bugs up here in the great frozen North like you have there is the swamps. For those really heavy encrustations when the mayflies hit a slurry of water and sodium bicarbonate will dissolve most of the rascals and will not harm the paint or maybe even the flames.

Next time try to tell me something I don't already know about, other wise I fall asleep reading a lot of this tasteless crap more suited to HD sites.

Yes, I can spell it, conjugate it as a verb in English and Spanish, and even explain it to harleydoods who are suckers enough to buy one. Please note that arrogance is not a proper noun and needs no capitalization other than if used as the first word in a sentence. An example:

Arrogance, you can say. ( This is good English in a Yoda kind of way.)

I've seen the "800RR" decals on the chinese fairings and really like them. I think the cbr crowd gets confused when they see a sporty honda that doesn't look familiar and the "800RR" logo kinda links the vfr to its honda brethren.

Well BB thank you so much for the history lesson on shit I never figured I would need to know. I will add that to the useless cesspool of shit I will have to remember...IF and only IF I make it on Jeopardy and I wish to break down the answer that I gave Alex in the form of a question. :potstir:

As for the flames I am not sure if this guy likes decals or not. It is only our opinions that we are able to form and maybe he saw said flames you speak of and decided that decals were his personal favorites. I do not know this gentelman and maybe he likes his flames as decaled and not airbrushed on. I can only speak for myself and I mean no ill will. "To each his own"

Now for the bugs you speak of if there are no GIANT SKEETERS in the great white north that is only because the little beggers don't get enough blood sucking in to grow big and strong like the ones down here who on a momentary basis drink of my super blood and grown to monsters big enough to take down birds(by themselves) in a matter of seconds. (it must be my blood type O+ that draws them to me.)

I also use the window washer fluid that you speak of. I buy mine at the Dollar store too. Does that make up some time of brothers or something? I have never had a brother. I am so excited I will have to text you while driving my bike home today on the Interstate doing 101+ and steering with my toes. It can be done and I will do it for you My brother from another mother.

Cant wait to see the rebuttal to this one, and keep in mind we are now blue bug washing brothers ( kinda like blood brother but with watery bug remover instead)
Talk with you in a bit BB. If I dont reply today its cause I have left my work and will holla back at you tomorrow.

    Paul
