    Hello,
Ive been reading this forum for years but finally registered to show you all what I did to my 98 VFR.
When I bought it, the red fairings had faded and no longer matched the tank paint. I decided to paint it, but wanted to do it a little different. It has the gold wheels, so I narrowed my choices to black, carbon fiber, and ultimately white. It had never been wrecked or dropped, but did have chips around the bottom areas. I dissasembled the fairings, removed the decals, repaired a few small stress cracks, sanded, filled, sanded, sanded, and then sprayed pearl white. I then applied some semi custom gold and black decals to match the wheels. Pictures dont neccesarily do it justice, but it looks very nice. It is so bright you gotta have sunglasses on to ride.!!! I also painted the headers, and a few other black plastic pieces.
Im still thinking of changing the front blinkers to clear lenses with amber bulbs becuase I think the amber lenses really stand out too much now. Im gonna attempt to upload the pics to see what you guys think.

Very nice work and the whole job looks great. The 8 spoke rear wheel though, hmmmmmm, I think it would look better with a 5 spoke wheel in that color. Tell you what, I'll swap your 8 spoke wheel for my 5 spoke. LOL. Heck, just to be helpful, I'll even paint the wheel to match yours and cover shipping. LOL

Seriously now, the only thing you need to do to make the job complete is to find a high mount exhaust to both make the bike sound as good as it looks and to bring that 8 spoke wheel out of hiding. Delkevic USA has a really nice 14" Tri-Oval slip-on that is both inexpensive and sounds fantastic.

Check out this thread and see what you think. Careful though, you may find yourself wanting to spend a bit more money. LOL

It actually had a Micron exhaust when I got it, but I swapped it back to the provided factory pipe, cause I like it quiet. Ive thought about high mounting the factory one, but havent gotten too far into it. I would like to expose the wheel more, but only would consider an exhaust that is as quiet as the factory one.

As for swapping wheels with ya!! ha! I love the 8 spoke, and they are rare. The wife wants the bike gone, so I may sell it next summer, who knows. Any takers on here?

So when are you gonna cover those turn signal holes and get CBR turn signal mirrors to finish the clean up?

We don't buy and sell people here anymore. Christ Duc. Where have you been. Give your wife to Duc. Keep the bike.

As for the signal lights. MOFWIW. Get Smoked lenses if you can, front and back. You already have the smoked windshield. You may want to put L.E.D. bulbs in them thought as the incandescent may not be bright enough to sufficiently shine through the smoked lenses. But I think it would look ubber cool.

I would also have painted the brake calipers either silver to match the forks, or gold to match the wheels. Mine are factor gold and I was going to paint them red, but I don't think I will now. My bike is Pearl White BTW........well mostly......... OK. It looks like I low-sided on a possum both sides OK?

What windscreen is that? I had one like it on the '94 I wrecked, that was similar to stock with a little flare at the end to divert the air over the rider, but I haven't been able to find one for the 5th-gen.

I dont know what kind of windshield it is, it came with a different one but seller gave me the higher one too. I ordered some clear blinker lights, couldnt find smoked ones, but i may dust a little black paint on them to smoke them out. I painted the brake calipers but I agree, they need to be black or silver. Im working on that!!! Thanks for thr great praise! If i were to sell her, i would probsbly be looking for around 3k fyi

Thisone reminds me of the very first VFR that ever caught my eye: The limited edition 1987 Honda VFR700 interceptor in white pearl. Oh my, what a machine! A friend of mine left it in my care for a weekend while he had to go to California and >woot< wouldn't you know it, but 400 miles just came and went.... Until I got my 2000 this summer, it was the most fun spent on a streetbike I ever had.

I always liked that white bike; very rare. Yours looks great in that paint scheme.

Installed clear blinker lights and painted calipers black. Got the blinker bulbs that are LED white running, then blink amber LED when activated. Look awesome

    Thanks for the comments!
