Someday, when phrases like "put a cork in it" have become meaningless, we can blame Ernest and Julio Gallo.

Why would I want to quit texting? That will take away the one interesting thing that Badbilly has to talk about.

I just finished reading this thread from start to finish. @Chicky I am sorry that you had to suffer because of the accident. and IMO 3300.00 is shit compared to what you should get from a cager and his insurance for the pain and suffering expecially becasue it is not your fault at all.

@BB man u are a trip. I would really like to meet another hater who is as much a hater as I.

Sorry you are missing the psychology here. La chica is in a loop of victim, then hero found in most fictions. I understand your need for hyperbole. Haters morso than yourself? Easy, try any Mullah in Afghanistan.

I just realized I didn't keep this up to date and finish the story... So the 3300 was for property damage. Injuries hadn't even been dealt with yet. The guy's injury limits were set at 25k and my medical bills were just under so we settled for that. My own health insurance covered the bills and they only wanted reimbursement from insurance of $1800.00. So, after insurance and attorneys were paid, I got about 12k from that first settlement. Then, my own insurance policy has 100k limits for un/underinsured motorist coverage so we went after that for pain and suffering. In addition, after six months of waiting for "final healing" I was still experiencing pain, so I went back to the docs, had another MRI and had another round of physical therapy to breakup the massive amounts of scar tissue that had developed. They used a Graston technique where they ran stainless steel tools over the scar tissue and dug in to break up the scar tissue. THAT experience was way more painful than anything else experienced to date and I was in tears during a couple of the sessions. When all was said and done, my insurance company gave me an additional 35k, and after the attorney payout, I ended up with about 22k. So the total between property damage, injuries and pain and suffering was about 37k. I used that to live on while I started my own accounting/bookkeeping business and I also bought a 2008 WR250 and 2006 DR650 and began my off-road adventures.... The business still has its ups and downs but I'm surviving so far. Occasionally I still have reminders if my leg is bumped just the right way... I will get a twinge of pins and needles, but its really not bad at all. Im still on two wheels more often than 4 and the VFR is currently getting her 48k valve adjustment. Life is good and I am happy. :)

This all finally settled in March of 2013. In the meantime, in Spring if 2012, I was riding home from a local bike night at 10pm on a Friday night and got rearended at a stoplight by a little old lady. I ended up on my side in the middle of the intersection but thankfully had no injuries. That brought me 5500.00 in property damages to the bike. The only things I replaced from all of this were the right reset, provided my Metalican, and I bought a new rear cowl. I really needed a new one, it had some cracks in it.

I just read all of this and I concur, looked hot with that cane. Perhaps something to due with a good looking woman with a stick in her hand

In all seriousness, yes BB is definitely a tool.

Consider giving up riding at night. I did. Not worth the risk.

Glad you are doing well now. Good luck with the new business.

Hey Chicky, glad you mended or are mending. I got the same type of injury years ago when a drunk turned in front of my BMW R90/6. I was thrown sideways, by the impact, into his passenger side door. I ended up with a left arm and leg that looked like they belonged to Popeye The Sailor. My arm injury looked like your leg. The blood infiltrated the muscle tissue for a very colorful and interesting bruise. My leg, on the other hand, had a pocket of blood in it. The surgeon said "son, let me shoot a little local in there and clean that out." And that's what he did too. He confided in me that they would move heaven and earth not to cut a woman's leg like that. I had ugly old hairy boy legs so it was OK. I still wear that scar as a reminder to watch for dumb ass drunks parked in the passing lane.

BTW, I quit riding at night. Too dark with too many critters with no running lights.

Jim, Too bad you couldn't have hooked up with the same lawyer la chica had or at least found one out of UofT. After contingency fees were subtracted you coulda got a new R100.

I just read all the way through this.

I've almost been sideswiped a few times and was lucky enough the horn got the driver's attention and I had a shoulder to move over to so I could avoid them.
At the time I just got angry and blew it off but after seeing this I feel very lucky.

@Chicky, glad to see you came out of it ok in the end. I hope the pins and needles thing goes away but I had an incident with my left leg 13 years ago and I still don't have any feeling in an area of skin on my knee so you might just be stuck with it.

In time this moan and groan fest may devolve into a Preparation H promo for Ironbutt riders who may not have the metal.
