These 748s are a bargain! This one has relatively low miles, carbon fairings, and a Marchesini wheelset (not shown). These are the anti-VFRs - highly focused and visceral. Mucho fun!

Nice bike! My good friend has a 1098 and the thing is a piece of art. It is REALLY fun to ride......for about 45 minutes, lol. It is a 100% pure bred racing machine and serves no useful purpose other than to act like a hooligan until your legs and arms cramp up, hehehehe.

    Have fun with it!

Definitely not a comfortable ride. Wrist pain, cooked butt and thigh, seat like a plank, restricted turning radius - BUT . . .

Scuba, I love the 749R! I may be crazy, but I like them better than the 748. If I had more money to burn I would buy a 749 instead of the 748.

I would only offer one word of advice, make sure the rockers aren't flaking as replacement can get expensive.

Here are a few shots of my old 748. Picked it up in Chi town for $5k

Then you will need to get used to looking at these,

But really, it is all about this,

    And this!! Sweet ass!

Here is a video of my first start up after doing the heads, ( I hope it works)

was a '99 996 on craigs for $4500, 6k miles, when i first started riding that bike was the shizzle to me, really took restraint to not at least go peek at it. I don't really need another used bike i dont know anything about though.

I have never ridden one of these Terblanche Ducati Superbikes, but everything I have read says they are a quantum leap forward from the 748/916/996/998 superbikes - in performance, design/maintenance, and "comfort". If I wanted to spend more than the $3200 I am spending, I would buy one of them instead of the 748.

This may sound like heresy to the Ducatisti, but I like the looks better too!

    OMG :hss::crazy:

Yes don't say that too loud or they will find you and make you pay for that comment.

In my experience doing track days with a 748, I saw no advantage to the 749. I was never passed by one, I can tell you that much. LOL

But it is more about the rider than that machine at the track day level IMHO>:potstir:
