Would love to find some hard bags for my beloved 2000 yellow (fastest color fyi) VFR but I can't seem find anything but some hugely over sized, terrible looking Givi cases that I am not too fond of. Are there any options out there that anyone would know of for hard cases on the 98-01 Viffers?

I've got a pair of Kappa K21's (Givi E21) on the sides of my '99 that aren't that big. They are great for commuting with lunch, change of clothes or whatever. I have a Coocase S50 for the top when I need more storage or want to lock up my helmet and jacket when I go somewhere. The Coocase boxes are much less expensive than the Givi's, and I'm happy with the quality. Remote lock, brake lights, inner liner, alarm, mounting plate, all for $230 at Twisted Throttle. I couldn't get a comparable Givi with no options for that price. Accessories are cheaper too. I picked up a backrest and the charging kit for the Coocase as well.

The only bummer is that the racks cost almost as much as the cases. I was fortunate that my '99 came with a Givi top rack, but the side racks that mount to it were another $150.

Thanks for the info.....So far the only real decent option I have found is some SW-Motech case mounts that are quick realease and pretty slick. The whole bracket assembly can be removed in seconds and the only left is a couple mounting tabs.....:

Was thinking about pairing them with some Hepco and Beckler Junior bags:

They are ugly according to Long Dong, but I like mine....I don't LOVE them, but then again I don't love any saddle bag.......Givi E21's. The SW Motechs are big and bulky, ugly, and way too wide to me, but to each his/her own...

Made by Corbin. Beetle Bags. The top case and rack are made by Krauser. They have served me well although they are expensive. Maybe you can find a used pair.

Corbin beetle bags were made in yellow to match, you'll have to troll eBay and forums to find them now.

Givi has lots of different sized/look bags still available along with the mounts.

Unfortunately, CRF, I don't believe that the Corbin Beetle bags are available for the 5th gen bikes any longer. I too was hoping to find a set of those on Ebay and at one time I did see a set for sale that was yellow, so they do exist but you are certainly more likely to find them in Red.

I have been looking for cases for my bike and I purchased a Givi top case rack earlier this year and have borrowed a Givi E52 top case from a friend. This thing has lots of room and honestly I don't think it is horrible looking. The one case that I have seen online from Givi as far as top cases go is a new one that seems to be available only in Canada and the UK thus far and it is the Givi V47 top case. Personally I think that this case more suits the lines of the 5th gen bikes better and you can get it in base black and maybe have it painted to match your bike. Just a thought

Hahaha...after all this searching I think I am just going to be patient and keep looking for a RWB 07 with Bags.....

I just really don't like the look of the available aftermarket bag set ups on the 5th gen other than the beetle bags and those are non existent. :frown:

But THEN to get the fastest color VFR you'll have to paint the bike AND the bags YELLOW!!!!! Hmmmmm, the problems we create for ourselves. LOL
