I've noticed I have very little wear on the end of the foot pegs (no screw in them, just the peg) but I found damage on one of the headers

As well as minor damage on the fairing

That's kinda hard to get a good angle on, but the streak lines are grooves that I can only attribute to being ground damage.

Does anybody else have these issues? I thought the center stand would hit before either of these- at least that is what I read online haha

It happen to me a couple of time, I scrape the ehaust and the peg but not the fairing. I change the setting on my rear suspension to HARD and adjust my damping to the minimum and have not seen the problem again. What is your weight and your suspension setting?

Reg he scrape his exhaust everytime he turn  He think he is Rossi :pound:

180 lbs stock everything and I haven't touched anything. I didn't think the OEM gear was adjustable?

Thank you for the suspension link!

I'll read up on that and hopefully make some adjustments in the right direction.

I tighened up the rear (it was all the way soft!) and went for a ride with the wife. I still managed to drag the pipe, but I had the feeling that if it were me it would not have touched down which a good sign.

+1 on this being the likely culprit.

In Europe they seem to be more and more and more of them and whoever designed the profile of some bumps had no care about the impact on vehicles with short wheelbase which can very easily ground the underside and cause the sort of damage in your photos especially if you ride over them slowly :)

I don't think it is a speed bump culprit- for one I would have felt it high center and second the long gouges run along the lower part of the side fairing, much too high for a curb or a speed bump.

Check your preload is set up for you and pillion, if riding agressive solo then learn to shift your weight inside the bike to keep it more upright and reinstall your feeler pegs so you have an idea your about to touch down, worse than headers touching down is your centerstand.

The first thing I did was lift it back to stock height.

and yes, I am off the bike when i corner and I've been using gopro footage to try and learn how to improve my body mechanics as I ride. I'm no pro, but I am not cornering flat track/supermoto style with the bike below me.
