    All,

Brand new to the site, , and live in Dallas. I am looking at buying the VFR posted in the link below. I'd love to hear your thoughts and expertise on this bike.

That price is a great deal. Look like it is bone stock with some maintenance
If it clean and ride nice pull the trigger. Hopefully some member closes by can help you take a look at the bike prior purchase.
:welcome: to the madness make yourself like at home.

The only thing that bugs me is the valve adjustment issue. Other than that, it looks like a great deal. I'd have to do a fly and ride, but can ask other members on TWTEX to check it out for me.

Many of us have skip valve adjustment not an issue here. Just ask for vin number to verify the recall have been done on the Harness

It is no big deal even it not yet been done. Your local stealership will replace them for free.
    Good luck

Good point to check it out. There should be a central database I'm assuming, so I'll call Al Lamb here in Dallas to have them check it out.

If it has such well kept records I think you can be fairly confident with purchasing it.

If anyone else sees anything in the Texas area in the 3k range, let me know.

Called the dealer this morning, and both recalls have been done. This is looking good. Is the manual cam chain tensioner anything I should worry about?

From my reading, the CCT normally isn't something that breaks often, and the manual one may have "fixed" something that wasnt broken. Thoughts?

This is hard to answer if you read on the forum you only read those peeps that having problem. VFR made by hundred of thousands you get the point.
It is not something that will break easy.....The only way to tell is test ride and listen for rattle noise. If you are comfortable with the bike then pull the trigger. If not wait for the right one.

I would give him asking price. Quibble on this and somebody else will ride your bike home. Really, don't wait.

The only issue for me is ABS. I really, really like having it, and this bike doesn't.

I'm with digitallyhip on this one. The bike doesn't have ABS, and from the picture the lower cowl to upper fairing screw (the lower one) appears to be missing. Deal's off, I mean reeeeeeeealy now, fix the screw for cryin out loud. You wanted critical right.................. LOL

Seriously now, if I was in your shoes I would jump all over that deal. Test drive it for sure and make sure it rides as nice as it looks but other than that, I'd say you're good. Good luck with the purchase.

Apparently Scuba, you and my optometrist have not yet had a chance to discuss my eyesight. Went to see the optometrist last week and he has recommended I get some transitional lenses (in other words, BIFOCALS, uuuuuuugh).
