Increased amount of junk mail since joining

What are this sites policies on releasing email addressed of site users.

Only reason I'm asking is that since I have joined on here the level of junk mail received has gone through the roof. How do I know? Well this is the only new site I have visited in America (the other being Ron Ayres which I have been using for years) . I am based in the UK and all the junk is Us based. It all started arriving after joining here.

So putting 2 and 2 together.

Can anyone let me know what is going on please.

I haven't seen any junk mail since joining about a year ago so I don't think it's the site...

I got that about a year ago, just bombed with spam for fake loans, viagra, etc etc. I get 3-5 a day in my spam folder. It's not from here...

It's great to know that somebody here knows that it's not from here. Everyone I know knows that spam is from roadkill generated by doods on Harleys.

For the record, VFRworld does absolutely nothing with the email addresses of users. In fact, we used to send out a monthly newsletter that just had a link to new topics, etc, but we even discontinued that at least for the time being. So rest assured that email addresses are not being shared, sold, or accessed in any way. They are stored securely in a database that only the system has access to.

Most of that goes to Hawaii. SPAM: synthetically processed almost meat. Spam: the issue from a close encounter between two harleydoods.
