Hello all, Im goin tp be purchaseing a 99 VFR this weekand and had a question about the gauge cluster. The bike is originally from canada so everthing is in kolometers and celcius. Can i just pick up a cluster from a U.S. made bike and drop it in or would I need to change sensors as well? Thanks

I have an american bike here in Italy, for the temp gauge just get used to the Celsius. It is more useful anyway. Wish mine had it, now I have to convert everything on the fly in my head.

Does your Speedo have the mph in small on the inner ring?

I thought the parts fische showed a different part number for the speedo sensor on metric bikes.... So I'm not so sure that you do not have to swap sensor too. Worth a double check.

Thought I saw a 5th gen gauge cluster on ebay yesterday for $250. I'd probably just get used to metric numbers myself.

Mine is being shipped to me from just out of Nashvile. I should have it in a week The pic and discrition were good but I haven't seen it. I don't remember the miles but I will message you when I have that info and we can talk "turkey". In the meantime try to figure out how we are going to "broker" this deal so no one gets stiffed. Regards, Mark

Ok sounds good. I'm open to suggestions on the transaction. I use my bike as transport to work but I'm sure it will function without the cluster. I'm just wondering if the pickups for speedo and air, coolant temp will need changing as well. Ill try to research it some. Thanks, Jason

I won't run without the Instrument Cluster, the ECM connects through it. I would have to send mine and when you get it you would have to send yours, Maybe best over the winter when my bike is off the road. Yes, all readings would be American.

If you wanted to wait we could. I can just take the car to work. Probly take at least a week or so to get to ya. I'm easy to get along with though so what ever works better for you.
