For rides over, say, 500 miles both ways, are there any tools and/or supplies you like to take along? Chain lube, wrenches, whatever?

flat repair kit with co2 cartridges, assortment of wrenches 8-10-12-14...1/4 ratchet with same assortment of sockets...can of chain lube. You chain should not require adjustment, but if it does, you have your tool kit that came with the bike. Sure some other pipple will add some stuff I forgot.

You may wana take some bandaids, bug spray and sun-tan lotion...pint of gin maybe too??? :drinkers:

    Cheers...

I've got a small first-aid kit I keep in the trunk(band-aids, antibiotic, burn gel, few other things) all the time. And the flat kit. So those two I'm good on.

Though a small bottle of Scottish Holy Water I hadn't considered.

No such thing. They are all big bottles. Highland Park 35 has the greatest healing properties.

A new headlight bulb, some wire and electrical or duct tape, fuses, along with the toolkit.

Spare R/R too if you have one.

Highland Park: Tastes like bad gasoline stored in charcoal from a burned cat.

I have a very small L.E.D. flashlight zip tied to one of the cables on the throttle side of the handlebars. Very small. Like about the length of the first finger section of you pinky finger. They are waterproof enough to handle whatever rain gets in there and is always available to you if and when you need it.

A closer view. What you cannot see here is that there is a clip that makes retrieval of this light from the cable very easy.

In total darkness, you should be able to feel your way to this light. Before you pull it off the cable though, turn it on. If you drop it, you will be able to find it easier in the dark. You need not ask why I am familiar with that aspect of this.

+1 to a small flashlight w/ fresh batteries.

A foldable map preferably laminated if your unfamiliar with the area your traveling in. Good back-up if your using GPS/ smartphone & have poor or no reception.

    Don't forget cellphone charger.

If your going to be camping at least 2 ways to make a fire (lighter, waterproof matches, flint/ striker).

A good quality multi-tool (Leatherman, Gerber).
