I will need to post up some pics. Did a few searches and didn't see anything. Standard mount, oval stainless can (14" long or 13" I forget).

Price is great, sound is nice (not very loud, just right with the db killer removed IMHO). Fitment straightforward and very simple.

Really good value I'd say. Yes, there are better cans out there - but for ~$150 delivered it fit my budget.

Definitely post pics when you get a chance. I just picked up a 5 Gen with stock can and I was looking at putting an aftermarket one on. I've seen a few of the stainless steel units on eBay for a little more than what you paid, and they have the carbon ones going for $215. Both sales have free shipping. May I ask where you got yours for that price?

    Cheers!

i would be careful when it comes to carbon fiber exhaust. they look AWESOME and are extremely light. but carbon fiber and even more so the resinn and heat dont mix. i am a carbon fiber mechanic at hunnington ingalls shipyard. i cant say too much about what i do cause i work on defense contracts and it is proprietary info. stupid, i know. but i signed a contract with the navy and to post shit in a public forum would be even stupider. lets just say that i am very familiar with the limits of many types of carbon fiber technology.

a good example would be two brothers carbon fiber exhaust, by far the highest quality carbon exhaust on the market, as far as carbon layup goes. they use a special wound on mold fiber weaving process, high dollar hi-temp resins, vacuum bag infusion process that requires the part to be baked to activate the catalyst and have a hi-temp insulating fabric molded into the inside to protect the carbon from the heat of the exhaust.

the extent that they go through to TRY to make this stuff work and last on an exhaust is good evidence of the inherent problems of carbon fiber in hi-temp applications. i have a serious carbon fiber addiction and love the look of their exhaust. but since i cant afford to keep buying exhaust systems, i got their titanium system instead. wouldnt dare try one of the lower end exhaust systems in carbon, no matter how good their other units may be.

Lot of truth in these words - however - it all depends on the application, expectation, abuse and maintenance in the end - just like anything else.

I'm running the stainless can because I seriously dislike how ALL carbon fiber ends up looking after years of road and weather exposure. I ride with a fellow that has a delkevic carbon can on his bike - going on 3 years - ~15,000 miles and no issues.

I'm having some major problems with the fitment of the carbon Stubby muffler on my 5th-gen; specifically that the bracket they included doesn't seem to fit anything, at least not when I have the pipe in a position where the centerstand actually contacts the rubber bit. It's also aligned pretty badly with regard to the angle of the can and the bike. Luckily, the can is light enough that I'm not too concerned

High mount or standard mount? This can was standard mount - no issues at all. Just left everything loose, twisted until I liked the alignment, and snugged it all up. Then I placed the strap hanger on the can and finished up!

That might explain it; I got the high-mount. Delkevic didn't quite do their homework when it came to the length and bending of the mid-pipe, as things are now, the pipe is canted outward slightly and the centerstand block doesn't quite line up. I need to fiddle with it a little more, but I'm not sure how much more room I have before the pipe hits the wheel. And as I said, the bracket they included doesn't really fit, and doesn't include a bolt/nut to go attach the exhaust strap.

What pipe is that? Is it the 14in. Delkevic? It's hard to tell at that photo angle. High or standard mount? Do you run it without the silencer?

So? I really don't expect a wheel or tire to be wobbling around that much where it would present any problem, my stock chainguard (99vfr) is much closer to the tire than that can is.

More than enough clearance and very similar to stock (possibly more) clearance. Picture angle is playing tricks on you.
