Just a question for all of you that have had a 700 or 900 and now an 1100------ I think that the removal/install process of the shields on the 700 and 900 is great, so is it just as easy and straight forward on the 1100? ( I have a HJC CL Max for my sled that I think I would throw it away before going through another battle of shield removal/install) thanks
Lens removal/installation is very simple and straight forward, however the one issue I have with my RF-1100 is the little tab on the back of the helemt. It will hit the hump on the back of my jacket and gets annoying. If you do not have any hump on any of your riding jackets, then it shouldn't be an issue. Otherwise it's been a great helmet. Although I am thinking of "trading up" and getting the new GT-Air. Very similar but the GT-Air has an internal sun shade and comes with a pin-lock lens.
OOTVS, Ha Ha, yep know what you mean, my 700 ( still wearing it sometimes) has that protrusion out back too which rubs against my jacket collar when looking hard left or right. Annoying for sure. Thanks for the input.:thumb:
I Find the 1100 to be more intermediate oval and is more comfortable than previous models. I couldnt wear the previous shoei models because of a preassure point on my forehead. The 1100 fits great. Im coming off of an Arai quantum II and RX7(probably the most difficult visor change). The wind noise is lower than other helmets as is the wind buffeting. I cant speak to the visor change but the mechanism is new and i like it. I also find the build quality to be terrific. The new GT air is a very attractive option. Another helmet that you may take a look at for visor change ease is the scorpion. I like the helmet and the build quality. I didnt buy because of the chin bar. They also hace a air bladder system that you can pump up to create a custom fit. I found that i didnt need the pump in a medium but my guess is that as the helmet ages, the pump might be an option to keep the helmet fitting like new.
