License plate won't fit between stain tubes exhaust

So I just picked up an 03.
It came blessed with stain tubes exhaust,
But alas my brethren the license plate shan't fit.
The width between thy fairst mufflers is 1.5" or so too narrow.

Lo, I am further disquieted to consider how
I might fit a set of side cases
For it has come to my attention that it uses the stock license plate bracket
For everlasting fitment.

Aye sh*t.

Thus far I've only found that arcing the plate and a homemade bracket as a remedy.

However it still leaves me in a side case purgatory.

Why the fuck doesn't my license plate fit between my Staintunes (not stain tubes, by the way), and how do I fix it?
