Got a question about which after market seat to look into. Corbin or Sargent. I know it's personal preference like Nike or Reebok but I would like to hear some input since I'm not up on either before I buy. Which one is more comfy for the money? Thanks

From what I've gathered it's sounding like Sargent for the 800s and Corbin for the 750s, is that about right guys?

I've owned 4 or 5 Corbins on various bikes and although their construction is pretty good they always drop me about 1" losing a bit of legroom, which for me can matter alot. I bought a Sargent for my 04'. I believe the fit and finish to be better, and it is a softer more comfortable saddle without being so soft that you push through to the pan. They are also pretty good looking. Check my pics to see a Carbon X with red welt. 379$ I think. I haven't done a 300 mile day yet but 200 was a breeze. Either seat beats stock like a drum.

I just finished 600 miles on a Corbin this weekend. Butt still gets sore by 100 miles but not painfiull like the stock seat. It does drop you some and cradles you more and keeps you from sliding around. I'm 6-1 and noticed a little leg cramping. 4th gen.

Check out my pix. I just installed a Sargent with gel and customized a little
with white welt. I love it. Sent in my stock seat, and it cost $125 with coupon in November.

They just recovered your stock seat for a total of $125? Sounds like a deal I should consider for next winter while I can't ride.

Does the Sargent increase, decrease or maintain the same stock seat height?

I have done a 4000 mile trip with the stock seat and a 6000 mile trip with a corbin saddle. I have to say when it can to comfort and fighting fatigue, the corbin win hands down. I went to Hollister CA to the Corbin factory and in about 5 hours, I had a custom saddle built for "me". I am 5'7" and I have only a 29" inseam which makes reaching for the ground with both feet nearly impossible with the stock seat and with the ride height increase (for cornering clearence) one inch. After getting a Corbin saddle custom made, I was able to lower the seat height (not the ride height) one inch which totally helps me on the long traffic light stops keeping both feet securly in contact of the ground.

For passenger comfort, I had the passenger portion of the saddle shape more like a "horse saddle" to self center the passenger on the seat. I just told Corbin what to do and they did it. One last thing I will say about Corbin is whatever you want done, they can do it. They have so many different styles and colors of leather for that true custom look.

I am sure there are other great saddle/seat companies that will do just about anything to please its customers....for a price. My saddle cost me $450.

    Hope this helps you all.

    They're both great saddles.

Biggest complaint is Corbin's customer service (or lack thereof). I've known multiple people that had to battle Corbin with mail-order dealings. However, I've never heard a single complaint from anyone that's gone in and had them done on the spot.

So if you're near NorCal with your bike for any reason, get a Corbin. If not, I'd rock the Sargeant.

Having owned both, Sargent wins over Corbin in multiple areas.

Coupon  . what coupon .... how can I find one of these coupons ? I would like to get my 97 seat done my Sargent.

I just installed a used Corbin but havent rode with it yet. I do know the Corbin is more gear towards touring as the seat is more dished. The Sargent seems better for the Sport in S/T. If your rinding 2 up and just Touring I say the Corbin is the better bet.
