Anyone here ever have this problem? after revving a little or giving it a little gas and letting go, it is slow to return to the idle position. I am looking for suggestion on a type of lube and/or what I would need to lube. I think it's in the handle, but I could be wrong...That's where I am going to start anyways. WD-40 isn't an option.

They make a cable lube which is basicly a light oil mixed with graphite. Take the throttle handle apart and apply cable lube to cables and work cable back and forth to get the lube to wick down the cable. If you lube handle then i would suggest a dry type so as to not attract dirt and gum things up.

Had the same problem when I acquired my bike. Most likely there is a little (more like a lot) of rust and crud on the handlebar. Remove the throttle sleeve, clean it all up, polish with fine sandpaper, and I bet that solves everything. I used a little silicone spray lube (don't get it on the outside of your grip) and have not had any problems since. Don't use grease - it will gum up and catch every bit of crap you ride by and cause the same problem again.

Check that the bar-end weight isn't coming up against the grip. Had that problem on mine, put a washer behind it and it was sorted.

Dri-Slide is the only thing that should ever touch a cable.

IF| the throttle grip snaps back smartly to its stop, you can't conclude the problem is within the cables or handgrip. Slow return to idle can be a problem with carb adjustment, like bad synchronization, poorly adjusted idle mixture screws, air leaks around mounting boots.

or if it is pushed up against the other side. Just push the grip toward the center, which if this is the case may take car of it. I've heard of making your own plastic washer out of a thin lid of some kind and slid it in there.

maybe grip is contacting the bar end? Just an Ice-Hunchin, Errr a hunch,,,sawwy...You could always take apart your throttle housing and spray some lube in there, its a good idea anyway to do that periodically...Cheers...
