Wife and I had a disagreement a while back. I took off my levis , threw them to her and told her to put them on. She told me she could not wear those. I told her. "That's right. Now we know who wears the pants in this family!"

She took a pair of her pantyhose and handed them over to me and told me to try those on. I told her that there was no way I would get into those. "That's Right!" she said. "And you won't until your attitude changes!"

 

There's usually several of us from the Sacramento area heading down. I make it every year, same with Toecutter. I'm sure we could come up with a meetup point and make it a convoy.

 

Angry? No not angry.

It's a time and money issue for me. Unfortunately I'm a bit short of both as are many members I suspect. With two teenage daughters, one entering college / University, I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel. At least I don't need to do home renovations every weekend this year so there is a chance I will get some miles on the resurected Viffer.

If things were different, I'd pack the saddle bags and ride to Cali with a fresh bottle of Canadian Maple Syrup for Scubalong.

 

I may not make it this year. Still deliberating.

If I can make it happen, I'll be a ghost this year. Probably won't ride in until 2200-midnight Friday, and I'll be OOT before sunrise Sunday. As far as riding, I'm as close to 100% as I'm going to get, so rider 1st, cook 2nd. All good though, 1 short order cook, and 2 prepares and we'll make quick work to provide a savory meal for the masses. ...I've been doing some pretty impressive stuff on the BBQ lately with Achuletas de Corderond and Carnitas. Not to mention a cool little arsenal of flash fried Mariscos such as Blanco de Pátzcuaro, Huachinango, and of course Calamar. You gorditos ate over a pound of stuffed, sauteed, mushrooms, so I'm sure they'll be making a brief appearance as an appetizer.

 

I will send you guys some mushrooms and you will all be flying while the bikes are still parked. (Insert the sound track from Jimmy Hendrix Purple Haze in here)

I'll be there, I'm only about 10-15 miles away. This'll be my first one of these, but if anybody travelling long distance needs to do bike work or repairs I have a fairly well set up garage about 20 minutes ride away. Looking forward to seeing some other VFR's!
