Hey guys... I've been wanting another exhaust for my VFR750. I'm really liking the "Two brothers" Slip on sound. My question to you is. Whats the install on that? I would think that slip on would mean that it would just slip on right where the stock exhaust is. The stock exhaust is welded on though... So i'm i suppose to cut it off? Before i buy anything i wanna make sure i can do this fairly easy... Honda dealer said it was easy... They never explained what to do though. Any information will help.

    Thanks guys!

For a slip on do you need a jet kit? What does the Jet kit do?

The jets are inside the carbs. For the 'bigger' exhaust, you need bigger jets to account for more air/fuel mixture.

Is that hard to install those jets? Sorry... I'm kinda a noobie with working on bikes... I'm fine with cars. Bikes on the other hand are new to me.

If you can remove the carbs, then it should be fairly simple to do. I did not do one on a 4 stroke bikes. I have tinkered with them on a 2stroke..

    Hey VFRMAN44

I had an M4 slip-on on my 97 VFR750 and it sounded just awesome. Not sure if they make that particular exhaust any more but it came with a link pipe when I purchased the slip-on. The link pipe attaches where the stock exhaust meets the header pipe (down under the swing-arm) and then the exhaust can attaches to the link pipe with a clamp. My current bike has a Delkevic slip-on that sounds pretty good and was not overly expensive. You can check out their website at http://www.delkevic.us/ and see if they list one for the 94-97 VFR. If not, maybe phone them and ask if they have a link pipe that you could purchase that would fit your bike and then you could likely attach any slip-on muffler to that pipe.

I have heard that running a slip-on exhaust can require changing the jets but I ran my 97 for over 5 years without changing them and never had any problems. To the best of my knowledge the guy that owns my old bike (met up with him last season) now has not changed them either and between us we put over 30,000 miles on the bike without an issue.

Here is a link to their Ebay store where they show a bunch of stuff available for the 94 and 97 VFR750.

Here is a thread that discusses how to clean the carbs with lots of pictures. It is from a different year VFR, but you will get the idea..

The jets that are in the picture needs to be replaced. Not sure if it is necessary because zoom-zoom(in the above post) mentioned that he does not have any problems with the stock jetting.

Jetting is not necessary on the 4G with just a slip-on. My particular bike has had a slip-on since new, and no jetting adjustments whatsoever. Runs perfectly.

It's been speculated that the 3G-4G VFR's run pretty rich stock, so leaning the mix out with a slip-on and/or a better air filter simply bring it back to ideal air/fuel ratios.
