Chicky, That jacket is Kick Ass!

 

Thanks TL69. I like it but I gotta tell ya, I seem to always go back to my old retro black and white with red striping Joe Rocket jacket in my Avatar. At least for the winter months. I bought the skull and crossbone one as a replacement for that one, because it is close to 10 years old. But the skull/crossbone, as awesome as it is, just isn't a winter jacket, even with the liner in it. It's a good fall/spring jacket, but winter... it lets too much air in. My old Joe Rocket works well and I can put my Gerbing's heated liner plus a sweatshirt over that, and I can ride quite comfortably in 20 to 30 degree weather.

I think the jacket will definitely look cool in the movie though... IF I end up in it!!

 

BTW, speaking of the movie... :funky:... since this thread popped up again, I sent an email off to James to see if he has info on production and promotions since I'd like to write up an article for the MSTA magazine, and he said everything is on schedule for release in August. They will be starting promotions soon so wants to do a phone call with me in a couple weeks to update me. I will keep you all posted. Hopefully they will have a new trailer out for it as well...

Well I guess not everyone will recognize your bike when they flip the page open to February Karen.

The 2013 VFRWorld calender that I got only has 11 months in it. Sorry to say it my friend but the page with your bike pic and the January calender dates is completely missing. Bummer! hwell:

Think I prolly musta got a leap year calender or something. Funny thing is I didn't even know that 2013 was a leap year.
Why doesn't anybody ever tell me these things? :lol:




BTW - Your bike is purdy Karen.......so is the rider.

 

I don't have a viffer, but I have it's much older uncle, the v65 magna. Does that count?

Gee thanks Stosh. I can't wait to see your bike in next year's calendar! As for the missing February pic, I think the mailman must have see it and tore it out. That IS the best VFR color EVER!! LOL!!

Justin, we are equal opportunity partiers. Heck at the annual gathering on the coast we've had CBRs, BMWs and even a Harley! Yours is a Honda at least!!

 

The film makers were at Buttonwillow this past weekend filming kids motorcycling with Minimoto USA (minimotousa.com). My daughter and I race in this series. That weekend, we took delivery of a new DM Midi Junior for her that she will race this year. They got shots of my daughter and a bunch of kids on the Kart track plus me in the pits assembling the DM.

The film makers will be back at Buttonwillow the last weekend in March to film Minimoto USA's first race for 2013.

 

Many times film or vids are taken and end up "on the cutting room floor". Editing final product for films like this is brutal. One example is from Bruce Brown when talking about editing "On Any Sunday" Hundreds of "feet" of film is shot and reduced to just a few minutes.

What a thrill for your kiddo but IMO it would be the thing to do is explain to her that just because something was shot it doesn't always mean its going to be shown.

This film will likely have only about 30 seconds on Harleys, saving untold numbers of little kids from visual trauma..

 

An update on the film. I will probably get to talk to James Walker this Friday or some time soon in the future to provide more detailed updates. In the meantime, here is a website that has some teaser videos... no trailer yet, but at least they are starting some promotions. There is one video labelled "Valley of Fire" and that is the point in the day when the others took off and they just had me, Warren, and the other guy riding back and forth on the straight, outside the park. You will see that the first rider is me, with the big "13" on my back. Another video, "Cornering", was filmed here at LVMS and is Keith Code's Superbike School... I believe....

The site is not completely user-friendly. When you first go to it, you will see some scrolling scenes, and I believe one of them is also VofF. You need to scroll down a bit to where you can click on "Trailers and Videos", then you will be able to select a few short videos to get "teased". LOL

Why We Ride

 

When "Why We Ride" hits the streets and this company starts production on "Iron Man" they either cast Robert Downey Jr. or Chicky in the role of Ed Kretz.

Thanks for that update Karen. Wonder if they are going to try and run this in the fall or it's a spring thing.

OJ, I wish I knew... There have been no updates on any of their social media sites, but they are way behind their initial schedule. They originally talked about having it premier at Sturgis... Which has come and gone. I think we just have to let them do their thing and I will bug them when it has been too long without anyupdates...

I agree. They had a trailer months ago but they have secured it so no one can see without the password. I'm not sure why they won't share that at least... I see you are from Vegas. Did I meet you at the Vintage Bike Night a few months back?
