I'm also down for next week. Just got my clutch and brake fluid flushed and replaced. So my baby should be nice to ride now.

The Crest might be a little rough still, I was up at Shaver Lake yesterday doing a project and the roads have a lot of run off and slush. The less traveled roads still have snow/ice on them. Shaver isn't that much different than the Crest as far as elevation and they haven't had snow in about the same time as the Crest either. Here's a few pics from yesterday...

Its a really good ride... One of my favorites. High speed, long sweepers.

 

Long mentioned doing Palomar on Saturday so I had started to get with OCLandspeeder to plan this one out, as unfortunately Long had to change his plans. I also have at least 2 other non VFR riders going along, possibly 4 others. Most likely OCL and I will be on our "alternative" bikes, but if Palomar/Borrego Springs sounds good to you, you're welcome to join the fun. Planning on an early start to avoid CHP and squids!

 

Been there a few times myself, mostly on the Magna. This is a lot closer to you than Palomar! This would be a good ride for you and Duccman if Palomar was out of the question.

 

Well, Your planning palomar on the 26th right? Or this coming Sat? Because i'm going to the deer lodge This Sat. If you guys are planning Palomar for this weekend i'll go with you guys.

 

Long said this weekend so that's what I planned for, already have a few people interested so the genie's already out of the bottle. I've got a few possible routes for this but have not set the time just yet. Palomar, like Malibu gets busy the later it is, so getting there early is beneficial. I'll definitely let you know ASAP.

OK. Here's what we have so far but it's not set in stone. Kind of like Malibu, there are many different ways to go, so we can make a collective decision while we're there. We are going to meet at the 76 Gas station at Oso Parkway and the 5 fwy (East side of the fwy) at 7:00AM with a KSU at 7:30! I know that is early for some folks but we should be relatively free of CHP and squids for the first portion of the ride! VFRMAN44, I hope that's not too early considering you're coming from Simi. (FYI, you'll have a lot of slab riding ahead of you)
