So I just bought this thing assuming going a step beyond the Zbomb would be a further improvement. Do I need the gear sensor, auto tune or all that extra stuff? seems like it'd help, especially knowing how Zbomb works.

The only maps I have are the ones from the PC website so this might be a good spot to share maps if anyone is into it.

    YAY!

What bike is this for? I've got the PC5 for my '07 and it came with the O2 eliminators. It also came with 5 maps, but I'm running the stock map. The auto tune and other stuff is optional. I don't have any of it. All I was looking for was to eliminate the stock FI issues which it has done nicely.

yes I understand, I also have the bomb, i just feel like something more intelligent, like a fuel or ignition unit would be a better answer if the expense is warranted. Will I really be the only guy in the world who tries this yet?

Kinda sad that we have to go through all this to get a bike that is actually ridable on the street without snatchy throttle response. I don't need to do all this to get my cages running smooth and they pass emissions so WTF?

That said, I have the PC V with autotune on my 07.

Ok so it sounds like I'm not completely out of line w this path. Good. Hey just out of curiosity, how did you install the aftermarket O2 sensor? Did you use an existing hole or have the new one welded?

I'll probably get the gear position sensor first and pray it works in line w the Z-bomb. (Series, prior)

Anyone mess w the available ignition devices?

Does anyone have any suggestions as far as what tweaks to make on the factory maps?

Sorry about all the newb questions but this will be the first bike I map and want as much info as I can get :)

    Thanks!!!

Agreed. I too have the PCV on my '07. It is a night and day difference, but once done, it's worth every penny.

i just recently purchased and installed a power commander 5 on my 98 vfr800 after extensive research and a ton of email back and forth with dynojet tech. i ordered just the PC5 first and installed it and imported a pc3 map to it. it ran better then stock but still had few flat spots to annoy me but was a hell of a lot snappier and overall better in drivability then before the install. following payday i got the auto tune wideband setup and installed it and got 1 test ride in before the snow hit here. needless to say utilizing the PC5 and auto tune my flat spot is gone.
    i love it!!

Sorry, didn't read yours as I thought you were selling it, not setting it up. If you read my post titled the "PCV Ignition Module fixed mine" it may help.
I would definitely recommend the Autotune, saves having to have it dynoed. I ditched the Zbomb in preference for the PCV Ignition module as stated. IT WORKS!!!!
BTW what else have you done to the bike? Pipe, PAIR, filter or is it stock?
A tip if you do go for the Autotune, as the O2 sensor is a larger diameter, a simple and effective way of fitting without having to weld, is to carefully tap out the original bung, you will be left with a thin wafer of thread, screw in the new one carefully and use JBweld to fatten up the bung hole smoothing it off before it sets fully. Remove the sensor carefully and when fully cured file the seat area flat, voila, you can hardly pick it from the original. After 2+ years still perfect.
Maps are very individual, geographically and environmentally different. DON'T USE the EUROPE MAPS!!

    Cheers Rusty

On my 2010 VFR1200F, I rewired 1st onto 5th and 2nd onto 6th. Then added Leo Vince slip on and PCV with 2 bros map and BMC air filter. Worked excellent.

Do not forget to update de PC-v firmware. My VFR 1200 got the Honda ECU update so i have updated the custum map. Now waiting for the spring to come to test the maps.

Don't forget to look into ECU Unleashed. They are working on the 7gen as well, that is the best option.

The 12s are perfect. Is there a way to put a 12 ecu on the 10s.? I rode with buddy today and he has a 10. We switched and it is night and day. Huge difference. I wonder why they simply do not make the 12 flash available for the 10. The 12 has simply perfect fuelling.

lshark, I thought you already had this mod done, sorry if I'm mistaken, ( I recently installed a DAM exhaust ) and I've been reading so many fueling threads I can't remember who or what. According to Bazzaz's website their O2 sensors have a life expectancy of 500 hours. Looking for a simpler solution. Love the exhaust but A/F ratio if way off now. Still have stock air filter. Wondering if the juice box is the way to go. Regards.
