Hey All Newbie to the forum and just got a 07 VFR800 with a little over 14,000 k's on the clock. Picked it up on Tuesday after trading in my Suzuki V-Strom 1000 and do love it. It is a little small for me but very smooth and looks freaking awesome. I do have a question question though (hopefully not too many to come)... What is the button on the rev counter for?? Cheers Gavin
Hey Gavin, Congratulations on you new acquisition! But as everyone will tell you, I hope the button you mentioned isn't the self destruct ound: .... and I hope you aren't talking about the select (temp) or reset (odometer) buttons. But if you are talking about that recessed area just under the tachometer, then it would appear that it is just a recessed area on the instrument panel. I have not found any reference to it in the shop manual, owners manual, or the Haynes book I have for my 2007. Maybe someone here will have some additional wisdom for us.
Gav, that's the HISS button, usedf if the bike doesn't recognise the key, helps the starter circuit sync with the key encoding... Page 56 & 57 of the user manual...
Welcome to the site Gav. When you post a picture of the bike, also post one of the button you refer to so there is no mistaking what you are looking at. Stick around. You too can become insane!
Ok, that must be an Australia specific thing. It sure isn't in the US owners manual - and it's definitely not in the Honda factory service manual in the US. :noidea:
