Does anyone know where to get replacement parts for the OEM saddlebags? I need to get 2x of those 4mm knurled hinge pins and ronayers/bikebandit/others don't have part numbers. I'm tired of my bent coat hanger "retainers"

P.S. Name's Lev - new to these here forums. I bought the '03 viffer in October, great bike, rode it Midland to Houston, took the scenic roads (800 miles). The previous owner got heli bars, so its not as agressive of a riding position - I am pleased. Way more comfy than my SV. My SV with clip-ons and rearsets was difficult for even 200 miles. Still have my '02 SV650. Sold the '98 GS500. I also have an '82 Honda XL100 for the beach ;). Been a cager-avoiding two-wheeler since college, about 7 years. Only 2 accidents so far, just hurt pride, all still in once piece. Always wear my gear. Don't own a one-piece, but boots, gloves, jeans, leather jacket (even in 100+ texas weather) and helmet. Always. Theres a lot of entertaining t-shirt and wifebeater cyclists here in Houston. SV is up for grabs, if anyone is interested. This is not an ad for that, I just thought I'd introduce me-self.

I think he's talking about the hinge pins that the pannier covers hinges to the rest of the panniers.

I was worried aboot mine falling oot after I had them painted and figured I would take and cut a piece of weling rod to fit and use that if I lost one. Thought that if one of the ends was struck with a hammer to flatten/ widen it as a wedge and maybe a little adhesive would get it done. Good luck.

Maybe it is because you bounce off of cars like a ping pong ball when you split lanes.

Correct, the hinge pins are what I meant. Welding rod would work, as well as some stock. I was just hoping to get the knurled pins like it was designed for. The 4mm was a guess - I may be wrong.

I have looked at length in the past and never found any OEM parts for them.

I don't think Honda intended them to be removed. I plan to have my bags painted so I too can see why you would like a set.

Givi USA uses 4mm x 75mm pins on their V35 and other hard bags. They are 2$ a piece with a 6-8wk lead time, since noone has ever ordered them before.

Anyone else need any? I might go ahead and put in an order...

I assume you ordered already? How did replacement go? I just had my left bag cover fall off and drag itself raw on an attachment strap! both hinge pins are gone! Trying to figure out if this could happen with the bag latched. Seems crazy either way the pins would just leave. went through an intersection with a bump and next thing i hear this strange sound and slow down to find i'm dragging the cover. So much for $900 custom bags !

Thanks. I was trying to deal with Honda customer service. After buying 30 years, 5 cars, 3 motorcycles, a lawnmower, and pressure washer, they didn't budge on customer service. The last question asked of me was relative to whether I or the dealer installed. While it may not be a widespread problem, it's obvious something is going on here. I purchased my bags just over 2 years ago...

anyway thanks for the Givi number.
