My Vfr has done 80000 miles and started to burn oil. Is there anything I can do to prolong its life? How long before the engine blows? Is there anything i can do to make it last longer?

wow thats a first. i havent heard anyone complain about this before.
it would help if you stated what generation your vfr is.
also we need to know where the oil is leaking out and burning up.
maybe through the valve seals, or maybe through the cylinders/piston rings.
i will say if this is on a 6th gen, or maybe 5th, they have fiber reinforced metal matrix cylinder liners.
these are extremely hard and resilient liners. they will kill the piston rings long before they show signs of wear.
supposedly it is a complete bitch to pull the pistons on a gear driven cam engine, so hopefully you just need new valve seals. because i dont think you have a 6th gen.

you might be able to save the engine with some oil additive, like http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_x_7080190-P_x_x?cm_mmc=ACQ-_-Google-_-enhancedRM-_-7080190&ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=7080190&ci_gpa=pla&ci_kw={keyword}&gclid=CMPoweCp1LQCFRQcnAodkFUAWA#utm_source=acq&utm_medium=google&utm_campaign=enhancedrm&utm_content=7080190

but i really have no idea, do to the lack of information going on here.
try that out first, see what happens, than go from there.

Thanks for the advice. Im not sure what generation my bike is but it is 2002 model. Im not sure where it is leaking from and tt does not smoke, only occasional burnt oil smell. I will try additive.

keep the oil topped up. How much is it using? 1quart per how many miles? If not using major amounts, it will be ok as long as you don't run it out.
