After many years of wistfully eyeing off friends VFRs equipped with aftermarket shocks I've finally got my VFR the present it deserves a beautiful near new Ohlins HO-801 rear for Christmas....

Many thanks goes to fellow VFRWorld lister " Pap11y " who for his own good reasons has decided to abstain from biking for a while but rest assured his shock has gone to a good home.

I got a slightly damaged seat, I was going to send off to sargent for a little of his magic. But since the vfr12 is totaled, I guess I'll put it back up for sale.

Last Christmas was the big one. My '07 got the OEM hard cases, a PC5, Sargent Seat and Heli-Bars. This year, it's just new tires. It's better than nothing though.

Very nice on the Ohlins ;) Me, not so much for the bike I don't have, but. my family (my sons idea) all chipped in for a trip tp Laguna Seca / Motogp. that and on a memorabilia thing, he also found my shoei x9 helmet from the mid 90s I had lost due to a freeway accident. I had no idea the kids loved that helmet so much.

Waiting for my modified 929 shock for my '86 RWB from JDM. Better late than never (not Jamie's fault, ordered too late for the big day). Forks will be done before the thaw as well.

I just can't see the point in those things. - Modern chain lube, e.g. Bel Ray chainlube, lasts for hundreds of kilometres before needing another application.

How many km between applications for you and how often do you adjust your chain?

Ps: You can use your old engine oil in them, just make sure to filter it lots.

Probably 500km between applications and I haven't adjusted my chain in 9000km.

Your old engine oil will still fling off the chain; proper chain lube will not do that.
