if the bike has an afternarket 2 bros exhaust, does a power commander make a difference?

You sure picked a hell of a day to post this thread because I just got mine custom mapped, all my bike has is a K&N air filter and Staintune pipes for performance modifications.

Never has the front wheel on my bike ever came off the ground as high as it does now in second gear, and it feels like a new bike the way it responds through the gears. So the answer is diffently yes, I'll never have another bike with out one...

Here is some specs on the before and after. Before 104.8 HP and 57.6 on the torque, After 109.5 :whoo: and 59.6 for torque

And finally a shot of "THE VFR" on the dyno

I have the PClll, do you have the disc for the PCll? Because the disk I have has maps that the PCll uses, Two brothers and K&N seem to be quite popular...

yeah, I'm running one of the maps from the web site. They don't have a CA model 5g with K&N and 2bros map. It's pretty good with the map I have, I was just thinking maybe it could be better? It's not really a huge deal but you know a few ponies here and a few ponies there...

If you'd like to compare maps, let me know and i'll send you a copy. 99vfr - BMC airfilter, Remus slip-on, PCII, and 87 octane. There is a dip - but overall the map was a huge improvement. Mike worked at it too - >14 runs is a lot of tweaking. We were thinking it was the Remus that was the cause - but who knows - could be the BMC.

    Question!!

Just bought a PCIII for a '00 VFR, not installed yet! Have just installed a K&N
air filter, and the Erion Racing slip-on. There is currently a major flat spot(almost jerking/cutting-out) at approx. 3750 rpm's. Is my ECU trying to adjust
for the new mods? Will the new PCIII eliminate this anomoly? Should I check
with mechanics first about flat-spot BEFORE proceeding w/custom map set-up
on a dyno. Want maximum "street power", my VFR has never seen a track
    and/or max-redline RPM's! Thanks All!

anyone got ignition timing changes as well as fuel maps?

Reason i ask is that here in australia we have 98 octane fuel. Might be a few more ponies by advancing the timing a bit on the higher grade fuel

Will this MAP work for a 2001 VFR800FI with similar modifications?

RW - your bike still messes my brain on the before curves. 104 before? Holy Crap!

I too have been scratching my head on maps - I have the BMC filter and a carbon slip on. It seems to run pretty good and I havent screwed with the maps yet. My bike is a neutered Cal model '98.

well, after several hundred miles on the VFR with the power commander installed has proved to be a valuable investment. The bike pulls hard and lifts the front wheel under hard acceleration, even with 60k miles. I also removed the air box snorkel.

    well worth it!:first:

I don't see why not since you have basically the same motor as me, but you do have the catalytic converter, not sure if that would mess it up. But I'm no gearhead and would E-Mail or call Power Commander to see what they say.

All I know is I bought it with 6000 miles completely stock from a 60 year man who hardly ever rode it, and he sure in the hell didn't ride it like me. But the same Dyno machine did a 4G with Staintunes and a air filter a week after mine, and it came out to 98HP, what is the average HP for a 5G?

P.S. I hope someone with a 5g uses this map

Average 5G/6G stocker is about 98-99, Average 4g stocker 92-94. I dont mean to stir the pot but, well, my guess is that the Dyno used is about 4hp higher than reality.

I have that PC link too. I was refering to a VFRworld custom map file page link. People could upload their map, describe the bike configuration and go from there. Users could pick the closest map for their ride and download.
