Hello everyone! Just got my 2006 VFR Interceptor and all I can say is wow!!! First off, I own an M109R that I've had for 5 years. Love my 9! But I started looking for a small bike to get to work and back and around town to keep the wear and tear off the 9. Three months ago I bought a 2005 Katana with 6,300 miles. Super clean nice, nice bike. At the same time my riding buddy (who also has a 9) bought a VFR for the same purpose. Well last week I'm sitting around perusing Craigslist and I see this 2006 VFR for $2750. I called the guy and he said he changed his mind and didn't want to sell it. After a few minutes on the phone he said come get it. One owner. Two sets of wheels, soft bags, tank bag and Helmet. I jumped on it. This bike is nice and the difference between it and the Katana is night and day. Someone told me once I got used to the sport bike, I wouldn't want back on my big bike. I'm starting to believe them. The only draw back on this bike and the reason it was prolly so cheap (at least I thought it was cheap) it has 87K miles on it. Still purrs like a cat. Just wanted to introduce myself.

Congrats Greg!! I picked up a 05 ABS yesterday, but I paid a little more for mine (4K). On the other hand my bike has 1780 miles :).

Congrats to you!! I would have prefered a lower miled bike. Guess that goes without saying. But when the budget isn't $4k, $2750 looks pretty good. But for the extras and chrome wheels, I figure I can spend a little if it needs something mechanically and still come out in decent shape. This thing is caleeen. Stay safe and enjoy.

I would not worry about the mileage..........This bike will last you a long time if you take care of her. Congratulation and ride safe.

Welcome to the site. As Scubalong said, don't think twice about those miles. I have over 100,000 miles on my 06. Personally I think you got quite a good deal on this bike so long as it is in good shape. Post up some pix when you can. Stay around.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I read a lot about how they will go over 100k if taken care of. This one appears to have been. I'm happy with it and the deal. Can't stay off of it.

I can certainly understand the guys reluctance to sell at such a low price. You got a great deal. Welcome to the forum.

NICE! Welcome here too. I sold our 07 RWB to get a Goldwing but only because I also had an 86 VFR 700 in the garage. My neighbor bought the 07 and he didn't stop grinning like a kid at Christmas for months. High miles? - yeah, but it is only about 1/2 way done IMHO. ENJOY!

I truly love the Winger, but it is a totally different experience with XM stereo, electronic cruise etc. I had to do a real attitude adjust upon the first couple rides. I would go into a corner and be dragging the pegs without feeling like I was pushing it at all - and in fact would not have even been close to dragging a peg on the Viffer (and I am no Fast Freddy Spencer even on the VFR). They do handle well for a 900+ pound bike and that is a tribute to Honda's engineers. This guy is light years better than me but have a look: deals gap on a goldwing/gl1800 by yellow wolf dragons tail - YouTube

Well I did it again. Bought the 06 with 87,000 miles. Perfect bike nothing wrong with it would ride it anywhere. BUT....Im a craigslist junkie and ran across an '03 with only 4k miles on it. Never been in the rain and it shows. Spotless. Had to buy it.

Ha ha! Mostly the cool wife. She has a V-Rod. With what she's spent on Harley clothes, I think it evens out.

So now you have a bike with 4k and one with 87k. Well can you feel the difference??? It would be an interesting comparison.
