I have been hunting for a 2012 model now that the 2013 is on sale. Yet prices are stuck at MSRP. WTF! A fully loaded 2011 BMW K1300S with less than 2000 miles on the odo can be had for less than 11K? I have a 10K budget for a low miles DTC 2012. Am I asking too much?

The vfr is a way better machine that the k1300. I too had the same choice and I went with the vfr after test riding both. The vfr felt way more sporty and much quicker to turn in that the K. The K seemed to only like to go fast in a straight line. Keep hunting.

I just spent $10,200 on a 2010 demo with DCT with a full warranty from the dealer, had 6,700km's on it along with a few marks. I love it

Agreed. The k1300 is a hog, and in my opinion a ridiculous bike intended to look like a sport bike and nothing more. If a vehicle's used value plummets quickly, that should be an indicator not to buy one. Go look at the used value of a Toyota Corolla versus some retarded Kia after 5 years. The Kia plummets in value, and people buy it only to lose time and again on maintenance and engine life.

It's rare that you get more than you pay for, especially with vehicles. My advice is to keep saving your nickels and dimes and keep an eye out for a good deal on the VFR. In the long run, you'll probably get more bang for your buck.
