not really into adventure bikes, they look funny. and ive got some ATV's already so uneeded. i just feel like i really want a SPORT bike. anyway its prolly mine for the winter as not a lot of interest in it so i will tidy the cosmetics up a little and then see what happens.

You want a sport bike? Just go try out a Triumph Daytona 675 and your answer will be clear. ;)

triumphs about the only bike ive never riden. i have owned a bennelli tnt, tons of other hondas, and some other misc. stuff. wouldnt mind taking a triumph out. i really do not like the naked sit up bikes anymore either, like the tnt or 919's ect.

Well then, just for completeness-sake track down a dealer and give a few a test drive. The Daytona is a fun ride.

If I were to get a triumph the Daytona 675 would be it. I use to ride with a guy that had the naked version but the same motor. I love the v4 sound but that triple is real close to it.

Yeppers...having had the VFR, to me the Trump triple was the only bike that sounded as good or better.

i wish i could spin down to a dealer and check one out. that would take a weekend of driving and normally if your not well known at the dealerships they don't let you test ride anything. heck guys the closest honda motorcycle dealer is over an hours drive on the highway away.

my tnt tripple was an awsome bike, and i do like the look of the 675. but i like twins, i need to track down an RC51 or a rsvr or something.

I can't add too much to what all the other, more experienced posters have said except to mention my personal experience.

The Honda VFR is a truly amazing, reliable, competent, exciting, complex, and ADDICTIVE motorcycle. But, for whatever reason, it seems to take time to grow on folks. But when it does - IF it does - you will love, love, LOVE this bike. If this doesn't happen within a few months of regular riding with no significant modifications, I'd say that you should move on.

    FWIW.

so, im keeping it. atleast for now. i have not ridden it any more, but i have not got any interest in getting rid of it, and it could use some work. the more i look at it the more it looks like a tired abused bike. so it will get a nice stock refresh, the fairing fixed, the tail straightened out, prolly an aftermarket slipon to replace the rashed tweaked stock cans.

can someone tail me where the hail the lead for the tag light is?!? along with being held together with zip ties, the tag light seems to be totally gone.

You'll have fun with it. Sounds like you've owned enough bikes that it goes without saying.... just don't put more money into it than you can get out.

until you've decided you love it

the sub-frame is a little tweaked, debating straightening it or MIGing one out of some aluminum tube stock. got about 300$ worth of misc parts ordered so far, considering i only paid 1500$ for the bike i would say i have a ways to go before i hit the upside down mark. but i do still need to get a slip on exhaust and those aint cheap. and the used market for this thing is one step over from non-existent.

seriously though can i get a pic of someones sub-frame area with the tag light harness plug pointed out? a good one from the top with the seat off would work, im trying to assemble this thing with no guide and im not the one that took it apart. well i did just now take it apart but i mean the original time, which appears to have been done with a large hammer, or more likely a 20mph lowside into a curb.

its looking more and more like a worthy bike after it drops 100 puonds. that suframe is ridiculous, i know us americans are fat but dear lord it looks like it was designed for an elephant and his wife to sit there. just ordered the clear led tail from across the pond, that was a pain, i wanted the smoked ones but that place in germany seemed to no like american money. oh well. will order some clear fronts off of a 07 model here momentarily. anyone got a aftermarket exhaust laying around they would part with for cheap? a little rash is o.k. i can buff anything out (even it it takes a little welding first).

trying to decide rather to ditch the linked brakes with the jaws kit or ditch the entire front end and go 1000rr...

 why is my intro thread about not keeping the bike turning into a build thread?!?

the last bike i had any feelings for was a superhawk, loved it but came upon some engine problems and used it as an excuse to by a new bike. things happened and that path did not turn out so well. ive always been a honda guy, tried to stray....

the original 2 pics my 250R and ascot can be seen. both hondas.

according to the wiring diagram it looks like i should have a tag light plug in with the tail light wires.... WTF did they do to this pooor bike.
