Hello everyone, just wanted to drop in and say hi and how much I love VFR's. My first motorcycle many years ago was an 86 VFR700 in the patriotic red, white, and blue. Long story short I reached a point in my life many years ago where I had to sell it and I've regretted ever since. Although I've owned several other bikes since, some extremely fast (Hayabusa), I've always missed that original VFR. We'll after several years, I finally found one in pretty good shape, it just had been sitting in a garage for many years. It's also an 86, but it's the 750 instead of the 700 and also in the patriot red, white, and blue. I just finished rebuilding the carbs, tank, and brake calipers and after 12 years of not running she fired right up! I took her for a spin today around the neighborhood and now I remember why I missed this bike so much. Definitely keeping this one. Anyway just looking forward to reading some other stories and seeing other pics of VFR's and hopefully linking up to ride with someone in/near NC. Here are some pics of my girl.....
Nice looking '86!!!!! Welcome back to the VFR life. I live in Elizabeth City, NC. Odds are pretty good you live on the other side of the state like most but if your out east I'm always ready to ride (except today, '86 needs a battery and '93 is having electrical issues......I think).
Welcome J'Man, your story sounds eerily familiar Hayabusa and all. Funny how we always seem to find our way back to a VFR.

Thanks, yes unfortunately I'm in about the middle of the state in Winston Salem. Doesn't mean I can't do a road trip sometime though!
Thanks, that's why I loved the colors of the 86. Amazingly for a bike that's 26 years old I think the fairing style and colors are still stylish today. Honda was definitely ahead of their time with the VFR design in my opinion.
Thanks, I loved the pull of the Hayabusa, but in the curves she felt like I was riding a pig. When riding with some of my friends on F2's and F4's I really missed the nimbleness of the VFR.
You're not too far from me since I'm in Winston Salem. Hit me up if you have a Saturday free and maybe we can hit some curves. There's a pretty good place to ride north of here up near Danbury which is only about half hour or so from WS.
