Tuned into WSM 650 AM last night and heard "The Time Jumpers," playing from the Nashville Opry stage, a tribute to the Hank and Bob era with a new-style retro jazzy, free-form feel and fantastic instrumentals that you should check out. New recording just realased.

More like 40s-50s revival of Texas swing with a whole modern twist.

Somebody with better computer skillz could post a video of last night's performance.

 

I think the term is "Western Swing". Maybe influenced by Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys.. After that TV paradise for shitkickers in LA with Spade Cooley who ended up in the joint for offing a dude and "Cliffy Stone's, Hometown Jamboree." The 70s produced "Asleep at the Wheel" and before that some really fine works by Glenn Campbell, Roy Clark and others.

Maybe Shitkicker Rap is yet to come.. LOL ...and lets not forget Ringo
