    Dude is wearing a cape?

We used to ice race in MN and WI. They have it up on a reservoir on Georgetown too.

I've only ever seen it on an oval track and never setup with a road course. That would be TOO FUN!

There were guys on bikes but I didn't have one back then. Good memories - thanks for sharing!

Yeah, we used to ice race too....on quads mainly, but on two wheels occasionally. Drag racing sleds too....well, mostly my friends. My brother studded up his XR400 and his KTM 950 Super Enduro the last few years......but it is just pretty ballsy to see that caped dude ripping around on an R1 at those speeds......especially with a hard charging porsche right up your ass. Looks awesome, and I think I might now put on a cape, just cuz....

See, on snow they still slide. The frozen lake racing is nuts because they actually have more grip than slicks do on a track. There's a better video than this one out there, in which a guy on a dirt bike is so far down in a turn he could tap his head on the ground, but this one gives a decent idea.

I used to ice race in the early 80s. I rode a Can-Am in the enduro class and an XR500 in the rubber tire class. You had to do something to keep you occupied during the long winter months. Sled drags were quite popular as well but not much anymore. Now they just do radar runs to see who has the fastest machne and generally the biggest wallet.

Winters are so warm now that most people have sold their sleds and are riding quads as they can ride them all year round.

Wished I had those tires before I retired. Could have used them many times.

    What were they speaking anyways?
