I'm in the process of buying a 2000 VFR with 6500 miles.Bike needs some serious TLC.

Front right Fork seal is busted. I have order new Fork Seal and Dust Seal.

    1) How much fluid goes in each fork?

    2) Does anyone has PDF manual?

I can look up fluid amount when I get home but when I did mine I think I put almost a full bottle of fork oil (16 ounces) per fork leg. Since you are getting it tha far apart
I would change the other leg as well and grease your steering stem bearings with some good quality grease. That way you can have it all serviced at the same time. Good luck and let me know if you have any questions in the process. I actually enjoy working on suspension.

If they did enough wheelies to bust the fork seal at 6500 miles I'd replace the steering stem bearings too as preventative maintenance while it is all apart.

No wheelie.. I spoke with my local Honda dealer and he said it was common issue.

The amount is the same on both legs at 15.5. Us ounces. I would at least change the oil in the other fork leg while you have it apart. If for no other reason to be sure you have the same fluid in both legs and the same amount. Like I said i though I would also get some good quality gvrease on the steering stem bearings. It will be a very easy job after the fork legs are off.

A well-maintained and non-abused bike shouldn't be blowing fork seals at 6500 miles. I have over twice that on my '98, the last 4000 of which were ridden on New Orleans's bloody awful roads, and my fork seals are still fine.

Moto is right. It could just be dirty or I mean some dirt trapped in the seal. I take a dirt bike goggle tear off and cut it up in the shape of a spoon or so and then slide it inbetween the seal and fork tube going up and down . If the seal is good it almost always wrks for me. It is easier on upside down forks but it stil works on conventional forks. I'm trying to think of something that would work but a tear off works perfect. If I think of something else that is thin and flexible enough will let you know. But you can buy a cheap box of tear offs for under 10 bucks
