I have owned my 98 for about 5 years now. As much as I love it I am ready to try something different. Maybe a 6th gen or a vtr 1000. Either way it has me thinking how long have you all owned your vfr?

1st & only owner. I bought my bike on 14 Apr 2000 & it was promptly stolen 4 days later. I replaced it with another yellow Y2K on 30 Apr & have had it since.

    KC-10 FE out...

Only owned my Gen2 for a year, don't ever plan to sell it; but I've owned various flavors of Honda V-4's since '94.

I think you beat me. I recall buying my Y2K VFR in May, 2000. Still have it to this day and just returned with it from a trip to Monterey to see the MotoGP (where I saw another Y2K on Cannery Row).

have only had the current one for nearly a year. It is customized enough that I have no intent to get rid of it any time soon. Has taken years to build up to the bike I've wanted and now that it's here it won't be going anywhere.

Can understand how you feel. Share some time with a second bike of a completely different style (dirt bike or dual sport) and you'll love coming back to the VFR.

I currently ride a 2000 VFR800 which i have owned for three years, before that was a 97 VFR750 which I owned for 8 years, and still have a 1985 VF1000F that I purchased in 1996. The 84 VF1000F currently resides at my best friends house and is his daily commuter bike. I couldn't ride two bikes at the same time, and he was forced to sell his last bike due to financial difficulties, so I gave it to him to ride for as long as he needs. Suppose I would say he owns that one now, since he has been riding it for the last 8 years, but I just couldn't stand to see the bike sit around in the garage not being used when there was a fellow biker without a ride.

June 2006. Still own it, be a while until I replace it. Not another bike like it for the price, handles well, great for long distance or just short commutes in town.

had my 99 vfr for about 11yrs now, and same with other bikes coming and going, the vfr will be staying with me till l drop,l'v had about 30 bikes over about 41years of riding and for some reason, me and the vfr just clicked, no reason why, l just never get sick of riding it even though it has left me stuck on the side of the road on more than one occasion ( stator/reg) , l'v got the Anniversary mod, and while some people don't like the look of them l think its part of its charm...just my 2c worth

I've owned my '99 for a month now, love every minute of it. I owned a couple VF1000F's in the early 90's, both died horrible cam-eating deaths.

Next month I'll have owned my 2003 for two very fun years. I am the second owner and have enjoyed my first sportbike ownership very much.
