Believe it or not, I can only recall being asked three times! Once was by a work acquaintance, as he is not familiar with MCs at all. Another time a complete stranger in a car at a stop light, who was rather curious and after I told him what kind it was, he just kept saying "Damn, that is one bad ass bike!", so I thanked him and drove off. The last time was by a tow truck driver who was impressed by the single sided swingarm and kept looking at the rear of the bike, at least I hope it was the bikes rear he was admiring...not that there's anything wrong with that.

I got pulled over by a LEO who wanted to know what bike my VFR is and we ended up chatting over 20 minutes about our bikes (My VFR and his dept HD). What got him the most was the ELF swingarm and that his bike, at 1400cc, had barely half the horsepower of mine...

That's what I get is 1000. Then when I tell them that its a vfr I get a real puzzled look. The ones who know what it is just keeping looking at it.

Everyone thought my little CB1 was a 1000cc, which was weird because I didn't have the decal on the tank. That bike was fun to explain to people, I even had to convince a Honda dealership that it existed when ordering parts.
Motorcyclist mentioned the VFR a couple issues ago talking about getting deals on used bikes by going where the masses don't. What's funny is the VFR was in Honda's lineup for more than 2 decades.

The ones who KNOW the VFR ask me why I didn't get an 02 and I look at them like they have V4 heads. The ones who don't keep saying its too big to be a CBR over and over again...

I had two stoner clueless kids (18-19ish) ask me this morning, "hey man what kinda bike is that?"
I told them its the new Honda "Millennium Falcon". ( I had just watched Star Wars ep IV with an nephew the night before.)
They said "man thats a fast bike, how fast does it go?"
Without missing a beat I replied, "its done the Kessel run in 12 parsecs" and rode off. My cheeks are still sore from laughing so hard.

Mine gets a lot of questions, but the wife's spyder gets even more. We were at a stop sign down by where she works (not the best part of town, but there is worse) and some drunk guy ask one time if it was front wheel drive. I don't think she heard him and just said "yeah," and I heard him, and what she said. I was cracking up, but still managed to get going behind her. We still laugh about it to this day when other people ask about it, I comment to her "..and it's front wheel drive!"

I get some every once in a while, by other sport bikers as well. "factory luggage...on a sport bike?" "I like that...Looks like a Ducati" or if I have my tank bag on and the saddle bags so it covers up the Honda logo on the gas tank and the hip stickers are covered, nobody has any clue what the heck it is.

One local shop owner has an old KZ900 that he modded to get the SSSA after jealousy from looking at mine. Not that he doesn't have some nice bikes, but just wanted it. Then had George Sedlack (painted most of Evel Knievel's bikes) do some custom painting on it, just to one up.
