I know this has all been hashed out a million times....but there is so much varied information out there (believe me I have searched) it makes my head spin, lol. So, I have a couple questions below:

    1) IF i decide to block off the PAIR system on my 2K VFR...what is the EASIEST way to do this? Plug hoses, etc?

    2) If i get a PCIII and 02 eliminators and (for now) run a map from their site, can I leave the PAIR system intact? If so, will it cause decelleration popping (I get none now)?

    Thanks

PAIR mods have no effect on HP at all.

PAIR mods on 2000 and newer could have some affect on low RPM throttle smoothness.

PAIR mods on 1999 and older have no affect on anything other than poor idle emissions and weight or "clutter" reduction.

The only thing it will affect on a 2000 that I can tell is closed throttle deceleration, etc. I am guessing it could induce "popping" on decel with a PCIII but a couple changes to the closed fuel map would remedy that I assume?

I guess what I am really asking if any of you 5th Gen guys put in a PCIII with PAIR system intact and is so any issues?

As far as the 2000 and newer, I only have feelings and opinions based on theory and no experience.

    Mine's just a '98 in disguise.

however, I don't recall reading any complaints from anyone or it would have just solidified my feelings and opinions.

Good luck, hopefully someone will be along soon who's already done the PCIII on the 2000-2001

well, I have a 98 VFR with a y2k engine with PC2 that has massive lean condition and lots of popping on decel. mech told me he is suspect of pair valve sticking but I dunno. I was thinking of blocking it and seeing if that made any differnce. I am getting about 20 mpg right now so something has to be done...

Hmmmm...if you are only getting 20 mpg, you have a major fueling issue as it is very rich....nothing to do with the PAIR system......although the pair valves may be causing the popping on decel, the overall cause is probably your fuel mixture is way off.
