    Dear friends

I fell in love with FMF Apex exhaust sound & design for my VFR800 anniversary model. I can't decide between Carbon Fi and Titanium type for bike now. For me Carbon Fi in a glance looks impressive but I heard it is not reliable as Titanium especially in tropical climate such as Malaysia. Is it true? Please post your opinion and advise.

    Thanks.

I have the carbon/titanium pipes, the "titanium"pipe comes with carbon end caps to the best of my knowledge so either way you'll have CF to deal with...

I read few articles back, Carbon Fi tend to discoloured due to high temp. I am not sure whether this is highly associated to quality of exhaust it self. I believe FMF has scored good reputation in term of quality.

    Wetspot Thanks Bro.
Looks cool with CF pipe. Already place my order in OEM cycle. Will post my bike picture after I instal it. Is it necessary to fix TPO Smog kit prior to change the exhaust ?

Since my bike is California's version added with emission control system due to state law. There are few aftermarket products to replace this system. They usually name it as TPO smog removal kit. Some claimed that it will improve bike performance further. Not very sure about it. For this I really need someone from Cali to advise.

Not sure... Mine still in transit. FMF claim that it should be clean fit compare to any other pipes.

It took about 20 minutes to cautiously remove the stock exhaust, including the rear mudguard and other bits and bobs... FMF were on and ready to go in under 10 minutes, then another 20 minutes or so to remove the metal guard support, attach number plate light and bolt it back in sans the big ugly plastic guard...

Wetsport, do you also fix silencers (alike trumpet metal) before you fix the both mufflers? How would be the sound without this trumpet?

how hard is it to add remove the decibel killers? sometimes i like to be stealthy. i get off work at 11pm and sometimes 2am. i am also curious how they compare to the stock pipes as far as heat goes for the passenger?
