Last set of tires I put on either were perfectly ballanced out of the mold, or they used dynabeads. Either way, I have no wheel weights and my ride is smooth as I can make it....and that is not really saying much. I will know for sure when I remove these PR3's which are due for replacement when I get home from this trip I am on.

But back to the subject. All good advise here but hell. Take it back. I have had good luck on a couple occassions with theBBB as well. No luck with the tire shop, park it out front on the street with a sign.

Are they associated with Helmet House and Tour Master?

Ok guys i am back with an update:hss: First i want to thank everyone for your input and help. I went back and the shop mechanics gave me the same runaround but my friend at the service desk helped me out and i had on a new tire "a Michelin" put on. Guess what my bike is back to normal and riding perfectly " go figure" so i hope this helps out anyone who has the same problem and don't let the mechanics make you make a wrong decision.

    Thank you VFR WORLD/ Riders

I know this has been resolved but I would like to point out for the benefit of others in the future that it is very unlikely that the spacers could have been mistakenly switched because it makes the front wheel very difficult to put back on and even if you get it back on the tire would rub against the right fork preventing it from spinning freely. Don't ask me how I know.

I'm glad you got it fixed. I just wouldn't be too sure about what actually fixed it.

Rollin is correct about the spacers not being switchable. Don't worry I won't ask.

I have been using Contis for awhile, as have many others on this forum, and have never had a problem. That's not to say that they couldn't make a bad tire, but the symptoms don't really match the cure. Even a grossly unbalanced tire would not show any signs at 20-30 mph.

It would have been very easy for them to check the balance, once the wheel was off of the bike. A good mechanic would have checked it, before changing the tire. I still think that they didn't install the wheel correctly, the first time. I'm not sure how, maybe they got distracted and forgot to torque it down, who knows. Apparently they got it right this time.

    Happy trails

    So......
You now have a Michelin tire on the front and a Continental tire on the rear.
Since it seems to be working for you, great.
Not all brands are compatible with each other.
The shop still didn't do a good job for you. Might be time to visit a few others and see if they might know what they are doing.
I'm not sure the first one did.

What is up with all these ridiculous shops? I've never had a shop run me around like this. The thought of it is hysterical. Most of my experience is local to the Seattle area, and if your shop does this crap there, it will be fucking blacklisted by every rider in town within a year. I just don't get it. Treating riders like this is bad business. We aren't car drivers, we sit on forums and gossip about this stuff. We are vindictive and hold grudges. If my local shop did that to me, I would make it my life's goal to sabotage their clientele.

I had them check the balance and it was fine, Spacers only go on one way on my bike so that wasn't a problem. It definetly was the tire i'm sure it was a bad belt or something in the tire. But its not a good start for a new brand i tried. who knows they could have broken it while putting it on.

    Thx
