    Hey Guys,

Anybody here ever install the Roadstercyle.com R/R and Wiring harness kit on their 5th Gen? This is the one with the Mosfet R/R....

Thinking about just doing some preventive maint./upgrade work before a thousand mile trip in August and this looks like a solid deal. Does the RR need to be modded to fit?

Ton of info here and how to
    http://vfrworld.com/forums/5th-gene...how-fix-common-regulator-stator-failures.html

Roadstercyle kit has everything you need Yamaha R1 regulator and the wiring.Plugs are designed to fit the regulator hence the "kit"
I installed Yamaha R1 regulator from ebay used and wiring from here R/R Connectors
I like the kit because its new RR and New wiring and fuse. I installed mine without being aware of the kit otherwise I would of gone with the kit.

You need a plug to fit Stator wires stock plug is different and inferior (lots of burning melting because of it)
    R/R Connectors
    part B $15

Plugs one end in RR the other in Stator and comes with stator wire plug for that end. Just make sure you crimp and solder the wires.Very easy to do.

Personally I would buy the Regulator only from Roadstercyle $100
but the wiring from R/R Connectors
    Part B $15 Part A $25
This is what I installed and plugs and wiring are superb plus 2 fuses. Comes out slightly less then roadstercycle and it has everything you need. The extra plug which goes on stator wires.

Soldering is always going to be better than spade plug ins or crimps.
